The Opposition has slammed sections of the media and the BJP for their handling of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, demanding an apology for the vilification of actor Rhea Chakraborty. The call for accountability comes after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a closure report, concluding that Rajput’s death was a suicide with no evidence of foul play or involvement by Chakraborty.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi took to social media to express her outrage, targeting news channels and anchors for their sensational coverage of the case. “The news channels and anchors that carried out their agenda using Sushant Singh Rajput’s unfortunate death should find chullu bhar pani to go drown in. Their credibility and conscience died long ago,” she posted on X.

In another post, Chaturvedi criticized those who doubted the Mumbai Police investigation and welcomed the intervention of the Bihar Police and CBI. “All those who doubted the Mumbai Police investigation on SSR and welcomed the Bihar Police team to cater to a bloodthirsty media, and then welcomed the CBI, should feel some remorse. The CBI closure report took 5 years but surely exposed agenda bearers,” she wrote.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut also weighed in, accusing the BJP of using the case to defame its rivals. “BJP never leaves a stone unturned to defame their rivals. It has been proved that this was a suicide, but they repeatedly find ways to file petitions regarding this case. Someone’s family should never be dragged into politics and defamed,” Raut said.

Samajwadi Party leader Fakhrul Hasan Chaand refrained from commenting on the CBI’s findings but emphasized the importance of respecting legal processes. “The CBI is the biggest probe agency in the country. It has conducted its investigation but found nothing. Submitting the closure report is part of the legal process, and the Samajwadi Party doesn’t want to comment on it,” he said.

Social media outrage
The CBI’s closure report has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users demanding an apology for Rhea Chakraborty, who faced relentless media scrutiny and public backlash.

Fact-checker Mohammed Zubair called out actor Akshay Kumar, asking, “Hello Akshay Kumar, are you not going to tweet now that the CBI has concluded the investigation after more than 4 years and given a clean chit to Rhea Chakraborty?”

Senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai criticized the media, stating, “Hate to say I told you so, BUT a large section of news media owes a HUGE apology to Rhea Chakraborty and her family. You destroyed a family for your shitty TRPs. And CBI, you should have filed the closure report years ago. Shame.”

Journalist Rohini Singh also called for accountability, asking, “Will Times Now, Republic, and India Today apologize to Rhea Chakraborty post the CBI closure report and the clean chit to her? If they have any shame, any shred of human decency, they should issue a grovelling apology for slandering her, telling outrageous lies, and getting her imprisoned only because they were determined to run an agenda.”

Social media users echoed these sentiments, with one user, Mohit Chauhan, stating, “We, as a nation, owe an apology to you, Rhea Chakraborty. The CBI has closed the Sushant Singh Rajput case and given a clean chit to Rhea as no evidence was found against her. Will godi media apologize to her for destroying her career for the sake of cheap TRP?”

Another user, Roshan Rai, added, “CBI files closure report in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. Natural Suicide, No Foul Play involved. This country owes an apology to Rhea Chakraborty. The media launched a witch hunt against her, destroyed her dignity, made her a national villain, and abused her day in and out. She should sue everyone from Smita Prakash to Navika Kumar.”

Case background
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020. The CBI took over the investigation from the Bihar Police, which had registered an abetment of suicide case based on a complaint filed by Rajput’s father, K.K. Singh. The CBI’s forensic team at AIIMS dismissed claims of poisoning or strangulation, concluding that the actor’s death was a suicide.

The closure report has now been submitted to a special court in Mumbai, which will decide whether to accept the findings or order further investigation.

Stand-up comedian Swati Sachdeva’s joke on mother sparks outrage on social media

However, the comedian’s attempt to lighten the mood has backfired, with people accusing her of crossing the line and using inappropriate content for laughs.

Just weeks after YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia faced heavy criticism for a remark about parents, stand-up comedian Swati Sachdeva has found herself in the middle of a similar storm. A video from one of her recent comedy shows has spread rapidly across social media, leaving many internet users upset and angry.

In the video that has now gone viral, Swati Sachdeva makes a bold and funny comment about her mother finding a vibrator in her room. She describes how her mother tried to stay calm and modern, calling the vibrator a “gadget” or “toy” and even asking her to discuss it openly “as a friend.” However, the comedian’s attempt to lighten the mood has backfired, with people accusing her of crossing the line and using inappropriate content for laughs.

During her performance, Swati shared, “My mom wants to be a cool parent, but it’s not working out. She found my vibrator and came to me confidently, saying we should talk like friends. She’s probably going to ask to borrow it! She kept calling it a gadget or a toy.” To escape the awkward moment, Swati jokingly told her mother it belonged to her father. She added, “I said, ‘Mom, it’s Papa’s, I swear!’ But she replied, ‘Don’t talk nonsense, I know what he likes.’ Then she pulled it out and started questioning me!”

As soon as the clip appeared online, people rushed to the comments section to voice their disapproval. Many called her language “vulgar” and felt she disrespected her family by sharing such a personal story. One user commented, “This girl has gone too far in the name of comedy. She didn’t even respect her own parents. This isn’t funny—it’s an insult to our values. Such content should not be encouraged.”

“Nowadays, it seems that comedy relies solely on inappropriate language. While some find it amusing, one user on this platform mentioned that comedy has evolved over time. So, is this an evolution or a decline in comedy? Is this truly what comedy is meant to be?” another comment expressed. A third user remarked, “She has no respect for her parents, all just to become famous.” Someone else questioned, “Isn’t this as bad as the vulgarity in ‘India’s Got Latent’?”

Earlier, Ranveer Allahbadia’s comment about Samay Raina’s show ‘India’s Got Latent’ caused a huge uproar, leading to police cases, legal action, and weeks of online arguments. Raina was even called in for questioning by Maharashtra Cyber on Friday over an obscenity complaint linked to that case.

Delhi crime, Vivek Vihar body case, decomposed woman found, DDA flat murder case,

Delhi Police has recovered a decomposed body of a woman inside a bed-box at a DDA flat in Vivek Vihar’s Satyam Enclave. The discovery was made after locals alerted police about a foul smell emanating from the residence.

According to police officials, the dead body, wrapped in a blanket and stuffed into a bag, was located inside house number 118 A. The flat belongs to a man identified as Vivekanand Mishra, aged between 50 and 60 years.

Closer inspection revealed blood stains near the backdoor, which raised suspicions and prompted authorities to force entry into the flat.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara), Neha Yadav, stated, “We received a call at 4:37 regarding a foul smell coming from the house. Upon entering, we found the dead body of a woman, wrapped in a blanket and kept inside a bag placed in a box. An incense stick was found near the body. The woman has not been identified yet, and legal procedures are ongoing.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Prashant Gautam said the house was found locked from the outside when officials arrived. Traces of blood were noticed near the backdoor. Upon opening the house, the woman’s decomposed body was recovered.

Preliminary reports suggest the woman, estimated to be in her late 40s, may have been murdered two to three days ago. Investigative sources revealed that Mishra, the flat’s owner, was seen visiting the house on Thursday night and again on Friday afternoon.

The investigation is currently underway, with forensic teams analyzing samples and surveillance footage being examined from the locality. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case. Authorities are treating the case as a potential homicide, and further legal action is expected as new evidence comes to light.

Rahul Gandhi says BJP’s cronyism pushed banking sector into crisis, junior employees suffering

He encouraged other affected employees to share their stories through his official website.

Rahul Gandhi, leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, criticized the BJP government on Saturday for what he called “cronyism and regulatory mismanagement,” claiming these policies have pushed India’s banking sector into crisis. He argued that junior employees bear the brunt of this mismanagement, facing “stress and toxic work conditions.”

Gandhi alleged that the government had waived off ₹16 lakh crore in loans for “billionaire friends,” while ordinary bank employees suffered the consequences. “The BJP’s economic policies have a human cost—thousands of honest professionals are paying the price,” he said.

In a post on social media platform X, Gandhi shared a video of his meeting with former ICICI Bank employees who accused the bank of unfair dismissals and workplace harassment. He promised that the Congress party would fight for their rights and work to end “exploitation in the banking sector.”

“Their accounts reveal a disturbing trend—retaliation for exposing bad loans, sudden terminations without proper procedure, and even tragic cases of suicide,” Gandhi said. He encouraged other affected employees to share their stories through his official website.

A delegation of 782 former ICICI Bank employees met Gandhi in Parliament on Friday, sharing claims of being fired while on medical leave or after raising concerns about management practices. According to the Congress, these employees said such practices are common in private banks due to extreme profit pressures.

The employees alleged that whistleblowers faced retaliation and that many were dismissed without following legal procedures. The Congress argued that these issues are not isolated but part of a wider problem in India’s banking industry.

ICICI Bank has not yet commented on the allegations. The Congress, meanwhile, has demanded action, calling for investigations into labor practices in private banks.

“If you have faced similar injustice, share your experience with me,” Gandhi said, directing affected individuals to his official portal.
