Om Raut’s upcoming mythological film Adipurush is in scrutiny ever since its teaser release in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya. Starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh in the lead roles, the film had been trolled for its shoddy VFX and the looks of the characters, especially Saif Ali Khan who plays Ravana in the film.
A fresh police complaint has been filed against the makers over the poster of Adipurush in Mumbai.
Complaint filed against Adipurush for inappropriate portrayal of characters in its new poster
Reports said the complaint has been filed by Sanay Dinanath Tiwari through Bombay High Court Advocates, Ashish Rai and Pankaj Mishra. Tiwari calls him a preacher of Santan Dharma and alleged the filmmaker, Om Raut, has hurt religious sentiments by the inappropriate portrayal of the characters of the Hindu religious text Ramcharitmanas in the new poster.
The complaint was filed with the demand for an FIR under Section 295 (A), 298, 500, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
The complainant alleged the film is based on Ramcharitmanas which is the crux of Hinduism and Sanatan Dharma for many ages. Tiwari said the poster shows Maryapurushottam Shri Ram in a costumed contrary to the natural spirit and nature as mentioned in the Hindu scripture.

All the characters of Ramayana have been shown without Janeu which holds importance in Hindu Sanatan Dharma and is being followed for many centuries, the complainant alleged.
The teaser of Adipurush was released last year in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya. However, the teaser did not receive a positive response from the audience which led to social media outrage.
Om Raut was slammed for poor VFX and for portraying Ravana as a Mughal emperor who invaded the country. Kriti Sanon’s Sita look was also not accepted by the fans. The film is slated to hit the silver screen on June 16.
