Gangubai Kathiawadi: Case filed against Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Leela Bhansali by Kathiawadi’s son
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt has landed in a legal trouble, as a case has been filed by Gangubai Kathiawadi’s adopted son, Babuji Rawji Shah against Alia, Bhansali and author Hussain Zaidi.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt has landed in a legal trouble, as a case has been filed by Gangubai Kathiawadi’s adopted son, Babuji Rawji Shah against Alia, Bhansali and author Hussain Zaidi. Shah alleged that the movie and its source material are defamatory in nature.
Gangubai Kathiawad is based on writer Hussain Zaidi’s book The Mafia Queens of Mumbai and tells the life story of Mumbai-based brothel owner and gangster Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Shah, in his complaint alleged that certain parts of the book and movie are defamatory in nature and even infringed upon his right to privacy, liberty and self-respect. He claimed that he has been harassed by the locals and relatives ever since the movie has been in talks. Further, he stated that his family was being referred to as coming from a prostitute family after the poster of the film was released.
According to his lawyer, a criminal complaint might be lodged against the actor, filmmaker and the author for indecent representation of women, circulation of obscene material and defamation. In the legal notice sent to the makers of the film, Shah has demanded shooting of the film to be stopped and obscene material from the book be deleted due to aforementioned reasons. No further copies of the book must be printed and circulated. The first hearing of the case took place on Tuesday, and the defendants have been given time till January 7, 2021 to respond.
Bhansali returned to director’s chair after a gap of two years with Gangubai Kathiawadi.The film marks first collaboration of Bhansali with Alia. The crime drama revolves around the Gangubai’s rise as a brothel owner and her relationship with underworld don. The film was earlier slated for September 2020 release, but had to be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Meanwhile, Bhansali’s last directorial Padmaavat featuring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor released in 2018 was also caught in controversy. Several Rajput organisations had staged protests, claiming that film portrayed a Rajput queen Padmaavat in bad light. Even film’s set was vandalised and filmmaker was assaulted.The life of film’s leading lady Deepika was also under threat.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Movie Review: Sara Ali Khan, Vicky Kaushal film fails to land on fans expectations
The film uses the same humor and a regular storyline that is always there in Bollywood films.

Laksham Utekar directorial, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke starring Sara Ali Khan and Vicky Kaushal releases today, June 2. The story of the movie revolves around, an Indore-based couple, who wants to live independently of their family and wants to take advantage of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the government of India’s flagship programme, they seek a divorce.
Zara Hatke Zara Bachke is a typical Bollywood film that is pretty relatable to an Indian-middle-class family. Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali play the two college sweethearts Kapil and Saumya, who are smitten with one another. After getting married, they stay with Kapil’s family, where they frequently run into family members and find it challenging to spend time romantically or even in seclusion. The son of his mother snoozes between the two. They don’t have any space to themselves in the cramped house, and the maternal aunt of Kapil is your standard family villain who nags Saumya whenever she gets the chance.
The film uses the same humor and a regular storyline that is always there in Bollywood films. Although the second half of the movie drags, the heartwarming end will change the entire plot upon which the movie is made. A love triangle is also shown, which adds to the chaotic trip.
At times, the entertainment factor wears us out and makes us bored.
The second portion of the story likewise appears to drag. However, Vicky Kaushal gives a good performance and pulls off the small-town penny-pinching gentleman role nicely. In contrast, Sara Ali Khan gives an honest performance as both a fiery Punjabi girl and a middle-class bahu. The supporting cast, which includes Harcharan Chawla, Inaamulhaq, Rakesh Bedi as Saumya’s father, Kanupirya Pandit as mama and mami, Neeraj Sood, and Akash Khurana as Kapil’s father, give solid performances. The cinematography by Raghav Ramadoss and the charming tunes by Sachin-Jigar perfectly depict Indore’s small-town character and eccentricities.
