Cinephiles were in for a treat on Wednesday as much-awaited teaser of Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi was released. Bhatt who is playing the titular role shared the teaser on Twitter along with wishes for film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The actor wrote there could have not been a better day to celebrate Bhansali and his birthday. The film is slated to release on July 2021.
Following the teaser, Karan Johar who gave Alia the big break in Bollywood, lauded the Student of the Year actor for her performance. Johar tweeted – With Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali working together, it’s bound to be magical…. What a brilliant teaser! Super super proud of you baby girl! Can’t wait to see this on the big screen!”
Actor Priyanka Chopra tweeted she was proud of Bhatt for stepping into complexity fearlessly.
Dressed in a white saree with red bindi, Bhatt is introduced as Gangubai as she enters her Bentley and slaps and kicks her opponents. Bhatt’s Gujarati tone is spot-on laced with a sense of humour. While introducing herself as president of Kamathipura, she says – Kumari kisi ne chhoda nahin, aur shrimati kabhi kisi ne banaya hi nahi. The film is based on a chapter from Mafia Queens of Mumbai about Gangubai Kothewali, the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura. Earlier, the poster announcing the release of the film was unveiled. The film will clash with Radhe Shyam starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde.

The shooting of the film began towards the end of 2019. However, it was halted due to Covid-19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. The shoot resumed in October last year. This is the first time Bhatt and Bhansali have worked together. The duo was set to work together in the film Inshallah starring Salman Khan, which was shelved.
Apart from the Highway actor, the film will also feature Seema Pahwa, Ajay Devgn and Vikrant Massey in important roles.

Manoj Bajpayee says Sushant Singh Rajput was very sensitive, couldn’t handle Bollywood politics
Speaking further, Bajpayee said Rajput couldn’t make sense of the politics within the Bollywood industry and as a result could not handle it.

Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee recounted his memories of deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput while promoting his upcoming film Sirf Ek Banda Kaafi Hai.In this movie Manoj plays the role of a lawyer who confronts a rape case involving a self proclaimed spiritual leader Bajpayee said Rajput was a kind-hearted man who was innocent.
Speaking further, Bajpayee said Rajput couldn’t make sense of the politics within the Bollywood industry and as a result could not handle it. Bajpayee said that politics had always been prevalent in the industry, but he had survived it since he was thick-skinned and stubborn by nature. Nepotism also had its effect which has been faced by many newcomers in the industry. Rajput didn’t make peace with nepotism and as a result ended up being hurt in the process.
Bajpayee revealed he had become very close to Sushant Rajput. He said he would cook mutton on the sets and Sushant would stop by to eat with. Bajpayee added he never knew Sushant would take such a drastic step.
In interviews given after Rajput’s death, several actors had expressed sympathy and condolences at his tragic passing. Actor Priyanka Chopra had shared pictures of Sushant to express her grief over his death. She said she was stunned and grieved he would have been in so much pain to take the unfortunate step. She prayed for his soul to rest in peace and recalled her conversations with him on astrophysics.
Similarly, Alia Bhatt had expressed her grief saying that no matter how much she thought about him, she did not have the words to express her grief. She said she was devastated and had expressed her condolences and regards to Sushant’s family and loved ones.
Sushant’s Kai Po Che co-star Amit Sadh had tweeted he was sorry as he could not come to Sushant’s rescue. He also added that he regretted that he could not be there for him at his lowest ebb. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan had tweeted he missed Sushant very much and spoke of his energy, enthusiasm and his happy smile.

After its theatrical run, the Salman Khan-starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi ki Jaan will soon be available on OTT platforms. The film, which also has Venkatesh, Jagapati Babu, and Pooja Hegde in key roles, earned over Rs 100 crore at the box office.
The OTT rights for Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan were bought by Zee5 on May 26, according to an OTT Play report. Along with Ram Charan and Bhagyashree, the film also features Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Shehnaaz Gill, Jassie Gill, and Palak Tiwari.
Salman Khan said that he was shooting in Hyderabad with Venkatesh when Ram Charan came to see him. Ram Charan made his screen presence with Salman Khan and Venkatesh in the same frame. The director of the film, Farhad Samjhi, had all praise for Salman Khan’s performance in the film. He said Salman Khan was not only the leading man but the producer of the film as well. He added that Salman was a hands-on producer and had in-depth knowledge on all departments of film making.
Samjhi said each and every member of the production team, from the light boy to the camera man, had contributed to the making of the film. The film is being showcased as a family entertainer. The movie is a remake of popular Tamil movie Veeram. To capitalise on Eid, the movie was released in theatres on April 21. In contrast to multiplexes, mass centres saw better attendance for the film and saw higher collections.
Salman Khan has many projects in the wings, they include Tiger 3 which will be directed by Maneesh Sharma. The speculation is rife whether the Salman Khan film marks the end of remakes of south Indian films. With fans consuming all content in their original languages, the box office potential of the remakes seem to have suffered since films from all over the country are easily available on OTT platforms.

After having a monstrous run at the world box office and thrashing-making several records, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham starrer Pathaan will now soon be released on an OTT platform.
The release date of the blockbuster movie Pathaan has been finalised, and it is being told that the Siddharth Anand directorial is going to be released on 22 March on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
It will be nothing less than a treat for those fans, who have not been able to see Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham’s film in cinema halls yet.
For the unversed, Pathaan is a spy action film made under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Salman Khan also has a cameo role in Pathan. The film was released in theaters on January 25, 2023 and has also completed fifty days running in theatres.

Although Amazon Prime Video has not made its OTT release date official yet. But according to sources, it is believed that Pathaan is going to release on on March 22.
If you intend to watch Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer on OTT, then you will have to buy a subscription to Amazon Prime Video. The annual plan of Amazon Prime Video comes for Rs 1,499. If you want a monthly subscription, then you will have to pay Rs 179 for it.
