Kriti Sanon offered prayers at Siddhivinayak temple after winning a National Film Award for Best Actress on Saturday morning. She was bestowed with the prestigious award for her exceptional performance in Mimi. The actor was spotted in a yellow kurta coupled with a matching palazzo and dupatta. 

In the video shared by a paparazzi account, Kriti Sanon was seen distributing sweets to media and kids accompanied by her sister and mother. The actor also posed with children for pictures outside the temple. Before getting in her car, she joined hands and thanked everyone. The actor was also congratulated by people present there.

On August 24, Kriti Sanon and Alia Bhatt shared the National Film Award for Best Actress. Kriti Sanon won the National Film Award for her role in Mimi. The film narrates the story of a young woman, Mimi, who agrees to be a surrogate mother for a foreign couple. However, the couple refuses to take the baby after learning that it will be born with Down syndrome. Mimi raises the child all by herself and faces various challenges as well as societal pressures. Her story is inspiring as well as heartwarming.

Recently, Kriti Sanon revealed that she spoke to Alia Bhatt after they both won the National Film Award for Best Actress. She said that she has always admired Alia Bhatt as an actress and that her performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi was phenomenal. She expressed that it is a proud moment to be sharing the award with her. She conveyed that they were both very excited when she called her up.

She also talked about Pankaj Tripathi who won the National Film Award for the Best Supporting Actor for Mimi. She said that her excitement had doubled when she found out that he also won an award for Mimi. She said that she has great regard for him and he is one of her favourite co-stars and she is happy that he is getting the love and validation he deserves.

Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, who appeared in several Hindi films and was particularly remembered for his role in the 2007 comedy Welcome, has died at the age of 56.

Khan was known for playing supporting characters across Hindi cinema and had worked in films spanning several decades. His role as Balu in Welcome remains among his best-known performances.

Mushtaq Khan’s film career

Mushtaq Khan appeared in a wide range of films during his career. His filmography included Aashiqui, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Gopi Kishan, Krantiveer, Raja, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jodi No. 1 and Hera Pheri.

He also featured in more recent films including Stree 2, Gadar 2, Baby John, Dhoom Dhaam and Jaat. His filmography lists acting work continuing into 2026.

In Welcome, Khan played Balu, a supporting character in the comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and other prominent actors.

Mushtaq Khan dies at 56

The actor’s death was reported on September 24, 2026. Reports said Khan had been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with liver cancer and had been hospitalised for around 15 days. Further details surrounding his death were awaited in the initial reports.

The newborn is the couple’s second daughter. Deepika and Ranveer became parents for the first time in September 2024, when they welcomed their daughter Dua.

The couple has not announced the name of their newborn daughter in the post.

Just a day before the announcement, Deepika Padukone visited Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple with Ranveer Singh and his parents.
