Mahesh Babu’s mother Indira Devi passes away at 70 in Hyderabad

Indira Devi’s funeral will take place at Maha Prasthanam and Indira Devi’s mortal remains will be kept at Padmalaya Studios for fans to pay their last respects.

Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu’s mother Indira Devi has passed away in Hyderabad at 70. She was reportedly suffering from various age-related health issues. Admitted to the AIG hospital (Asian Institute of Gastroenterology) in Hyderabad, Indira Devi took her last breath at 4 am on Wednesday.

According to a statement from Mahesh Babu’s family, her funeral will take place at Maha Prasthanam and Indira Devi’s mortal remains will be kept at Padmalaya Studios for fans to pay their last respects.

Mahesh, who was very close to his mother, has always vocally expressed his admiration for his mother. Even last mothers day, he posted a lovely image with her and wrote that that he’s grateful everyday to have her in his life. He even shared a image of her mother with wife Namrata Shirodkar and his children in May this year.

Smt Ghattamaneni Indira Devi, mother of Mahesh Babu and wife of veteran actor Krishna had been suffering from illness for quite some time now. As soon as the news of her death made it to the headlines, fans from all over the world have been paying condolence on social media.

Mahesh Babu fans took to Twitter to support their favorite actor at this tough time. Tweeple wrote, “stay strong anna” and “Rest in peace amma (mother)!!” to give more power to Mahesh Babu to deal with this tough time.

Reportedly, Tamil-Telugu actor Chiranjeevi was the first superstar to reach hospital after the news of Nirmala Devi’s demise had caught the headlines. He reached the the AIG hospital (Asian Institute of Gastroenterology) in Hyderabad and consoled the family.

Currently, the body has been taken from the hospital for her last rites and huge crowd has also gathered around Mahesh Babu’s house. Mahesh Babu’s fans have also been devastated after the news of Nirmala Devi’s demise.

Yami Gautam starrer political action thriller Article 370, after its successful theatrical release, today debuted on the OTT giant Netflix.

The film, which released in theaters on February 23 of this year, attracted attention for how it handled the sensitive subject of Jammu and Kashmir’s Article 370 abrogation.

Netflix yesterday posted a reminder on its official X (earlier known as Twitter) account, a reminder, saying, Article 370 is arriving tomorrow, only on Netflix! #Article370OnNetflix.

Priyamani, Kiran Karmarkar, and Arun Govil play important roles in Article 370, which is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and co-produced by Yami Gautam’s husband Aditya Dhar.

The excitement surrounding the film’s digital release has increased due to Gautam’s highly praised portrayal of NIA officer Zooni Haksar.

The cast of the film, which included Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Skand Thakur, Ashwini Koul, Divya Seth Shah, Raj Zutshi, Sumit Kaul, Raj Arjun, Asit Gopinath Redij, Ashwani Kumar, and Irawati Harshe Mayadev, ran in theaters for 50 days following its release.

The screenplay and dialogue are by Aditya Suhas Jambhale and Arjun Dhawan, with additional screenwriting by Aarsh Vora. The script of the film is written by Aditya Dhar and Monal Thaakar.

Produced by Aditya Dhar, Article 370 has an approximate budget of Rs 25 crore. The filn earned over 100 crore and 104.81 crore worldwide.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also discussed about the film, stating, he has heard that a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week. It is good thing since it will enable individuals to obtain accurate information, he added.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh then took his family to see the movie at a New Delhi theater, where he said that it depicted both the complexity of the problem and its challenging solution.

The makers of Do Aur Do Pyaar held a special screening of the film in Mumbai on Wednesday evening which was attended by many Bollywood stars who came together to watch the romantic comedy that stars Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi in the lead along with Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy.

Vidya Balan who plays the lead role in Do Aur Do Pyaar looked ravishing in a navy blue lehenga which was paired with a long red jacket. Vidya Balan completed the look with ethnic studs and a ruby-red pout with a small bindi on her forehead. She proved that  no one can slay in fusion wear like her!

Pratik Gandhi looked smashing for the premiere of his film as he was dressed to the 9s for his movie’s premiere. Pratik Gandhi wore a hunter-green suit paired with a brown t-shirt and matching shoes. A brighter t-shirt would have gone better with the look, he made the right impressions with his look.

Television’s actor Mouni Roy was seen in a red hot corset skater dress with a plunging neckline. She completed the look with a black sling bag and multicoloured heels which looked very chic! Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan joined his Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 co-star Vidya at the premiere of Do Aur Do Pyaar with their director Anees Bazmee. The actor looked casual yet cool in a black t-shirt and matching pants, adding a splash of colour with his red and white sneakers.

Radhika Madan looked very classy in her black bodycon dress paired with pencil heels. The asymmetrical neckline added an extra edge, making it perfect for the premiere. Another B-town celebrity Shriya Saran shined brighter than the sun in her blingy outfit. The actor paired a yellow sequin top with a mini fringe skirt and completed her look with white lace-up gladiator heels.

Amitabh Bachchan to receive Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar award, AR Rahman, Randeep Hooda to be honored

Amitabh Bachchan, with multiple awards to his name, is a household name in the Indian cinema industry. He has been invited to receive the Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Puruskar soon, which would add another feather to his cap.

Every year, this prestigious award is given to a person who has made a significant contribution to the country, its citizens, and society. AR Rahman and Randeep Hooda are also named along with him to accept the award.

The Mangeshkar family announced in a press release that Amitabh Bachchan would get the esteemed Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award. This award honours those who have had a significant influence on society and was established in memory of Lata Mangeshkar, who passed away in 2022.

On April 24, the day they pay tribute to their late father, theater and music icon Deenanath Mangeshkar, 81-year-old Bachchan will get the award.

The award was previously given to Asha Bhosle, the sister of Lata Mangeshkar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2023. The press announcement also revealed that A R Rahman, for his outstanding contributions to Indian music, will be awarded the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar. In addition, Randeep Hooda will receive the Vishesh Puraskar in recognition of his outstanding contributions to film.

The award for exceptional social work will also be awarded to the non-profit organization, the Deepstambh Foundation Manobal. Furthermore, the drama Galib, which is produced by Malhar and Vajreshwari under the Ashtavinayak Prakashit banner, is going to be awarded the title of finest drama of the year.

The Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar (Vagvilasini Puraskar) will be given to Marathi author Manjiri Phadke in recognition of her outstanding contributions to literature. In addition, Ashok Saraf and Padmini Kolhapure will be awarded the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Puraskar for their outstanding contributions to the film industry.

Other awardees include Atul Parchure for his commitment to theater and drama, Bhau Torsekar for his editing services, and Roopkumar Rathod for his exceptional contributions to music. According to the press release, Asha Bhosle will give the awards to the meritorious honorees, while Hridaynath Mangeshkar will preside over the event.
