On Mahesh Babu’s birthday, celebrated filmmaker SS Rajamouli shared the first official poster of his much-anticipated project with the Telugu superstar. The director revealed that the film’s scale is so vast that regular press conferences or stills would fail to capture its essence.

Rajamouli took to social media with a heartfelt note addressed to cinema lovers across India and beyond, along with Mahesh Babu’s fans. He acknowledged the audience’s curiosity, stating, “The story and scope of this film are so vast that mere pictures or press conferences cannot do it justice. We are currently working on something to showcase the essence, depth, and immersive world we are creating. This will be unveiled in November 2025, and we are trying to make it a never-before-seen reveal.”

Mahesh Babu also posted the poster on his social media handles, thanking fans for their love and expressing his own excitement for the grand reveal in November 2025.

Star cast and production highlights

The yet-untitled film, tentatively referred to as SSMB29, also stars Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. A large portion of the shoot has taken place in Odisha, with the action-adventure promising a blend of history and mythology.

In a notable change, Rajamouli has roped in a new cinematographer instead of his long-time collaborator KK Senthil Kumar, who previously worked with him on Magadheera, Baahubali: The Beginning, and RRR.

Adding to the buzz, reports suggest that Mahesh Babu will perform his own stunt sequences without a body double. The film, mounted on a lavish budget, is expected to release in 2027.
