Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan illegally screened in Pakistan despite ban, Sindh censor board issues warning
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan landed in trouble ahead of its release on January 25.

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s starrer is roaring at the box office not just in India but across the globe. The film on Saturday became the third highest-grossing Hindi film and collected more than Rs 600 crore worldwide.
However, Pathaan was banned in several countries including the neighbouring country Pakistan.
Now, several reports said the film is screening in Pakistan despite the ban and theatres are houseful. Pathaan tickets are being sold for PKR 900 in spite of this fans are flocking to theatres to watch Shah Rukh Khan’s film.
Reports further said the screenings have been organised by Firework Events across Pakistan following which the Sindh Board of Films Censor ordered them to cancel all private screenings in the country.
In an official statement released by the censor board, it said no person shall make or arrange a public or private exhibition of a film by means of a cinematograph unless the film has been duly certified for public exhibition by the Board.
Further, the board also threatened to impose a fine of Rs 1 lakh or up to 3 years in jail, if any person or firm is found screening Pathaan.
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan landed in trouble ahead of its release on January 25. The film triggered a debate on social media over its song Besharam Rang wherein Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan were slammed for wearing an orange and green colour costumes in the song.
A section of social media called to boycott the film for hurting religious sentiments and also urged others to not watch the film in theatres.
On the contrary, upon its release, Pathaan broke twenty records in total at the box office and became the highest-grossing Indian film in 2022 breaking the record of SS Rajamouli’s RRR which became the highest-grossing Indian film earlier this year.
