Partial lockdown in Andhra Pradesh extended till May 31, curfew timings remain unchanged

In view of surging coronavirus cases, the Andhra Pradesh government on Monday extended the existing partial lockdown, which was supposed to end on May 18, to May 31. However, the curfew timings from 12 pm to 6 am remain unchanged.

In view of surging coronavirus cases, the Andhra Pradesh government on Monday extended the existing partial lockdown, which was supposed to end on May 18, to May 31. However, the curfew timings from 12 pm to 6 am remain unchanged.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at his camp office in Amaravati. The extension of the curfew was inevitable to get the desired results. It has only been 12 days since we imposed the curfew, it should be in force at least for four weeks, said the chief minister.

Reddy also asked officials to ensure the number of Covid positive cases do not exceed in rural areas of the state and asked them to useASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist), village volunteers and village secretariat mechanism to reign-in the crisis.

For children orphaned by Covid-19, the chief minister announced a financial scheme would be worked out to help them, and also ensured that the state government will take care of the orphans. He said, the state government shall deposit a certain amount in the name of the children and the interest accrued from the deposit could be utilised to meet their expenses every month. 

As per the curfew rules, shops would be allowed to open daily from 6 am to 12 noon, with prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC in force. Thereafter, only essential or emergency services are permitted as curfew would be in place till 6 AM.

As of Sunday, Andhra Pradesh reported 24,171 Covid-19 positive cases, the highest daily count since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. It also recorded 101 deaths in the last 24 hours. The state’s daily infections are the fifth highest after Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

Dog waits all night for owner’s return after she jumps into river to end her life in Andhra Pradesh, heartbreaking video surface

Police reached the place after receiving information about the incident and they initiated the investigation.

A heartbreaking video that has been doing the rounds on social media platforms showcases a dog waiting the whole night on the bridge for the owner. The video has been shared widely on the internet. In the video, the dog could be seen moving desperately along the bridge, looking for the owner at the river.

The dog was waiting for the owner’s return and sat near the footwear of its owner hoping she would return soon. In another video, police were seen on the spot and taking the round of the area.

According to the reports, a woman who visited the Yanam-Yedurlanka bridge with her pet dog had committed suicide by jumping into the Godavari River in Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district on July 16. The woman has been identified as Mandangi Kanchana, a resident of Yanam Ferry Road in Konaseema district.

A 22-year-old Kanchana jumped off the bridge, leaving her slippers behind. Kanchana’s loyal dog waited all night near her footwear, looking down into the river. A heartbreaking video of the dog sitting on the bridge waiting for his owner to return has left netizens emotional.

The videos were shared on Twitter by the handle named SriLakshmi10. She captioned it and said after a woman died by suicide jumping into the Godavari river between Yanam-Yedurlanka bridge at pillar no 8 on Sunday night, her pet dog kept waiting all night near the owner’s footwear. Locals found the pet barking & informed the police.

Reportedly, a large number of people visited the area to enjoy the sunset on Sunday evening. While walking with a dog, Kanchana suddenly jumped into the river. Following the incident, locals called the police. Meanwhile, they raised an alarm, and fishermen in a boat tried to save the woman, but she was washed away by the powerful waves. Police reached the place after receiving information about the incident and they initiated the investigation.

Locals at the spot stated that the dog reportedly waited for its owner the whole night and slept there. In the morning, the woman’s mother came and took the dog home.

Merely a TV scene came to live when a wife made his husband marry his former liver. Moreover, the three of them are planning to live together under the same roof. Reportedly, the incident took place at Ambedkar Nagar of Dakkili in Tirupati.

The man recognized as Kalyan is a video content creator who married his first wife Vimala from Kadapa district two years ago. Apparently, the two met on social media. However, before this marriage, Kalyan was in a long-distance relationship with another woman named Nithya Sree. She is an influencer from Visakhapatnam and the two parted ways owing to circumstances.

The duo became popular on social media, amassing a large following on sites like YouTube and Share Chat. Later, Nitya Sree even moved into their neighborhood.

When Vimala came to know about her husband’s old relationship, she somehow agreed for their marriage, despite the fact that there is no legal authorization to the union. In the presence of his first wife, Kalyan married Nithya Sree on Wednesday at a local temple.

Following the ceremony, the trio posed for photographs as well. The photographs gained attention on social media. While tweeple were confused over the legal authorization of the union, others got reminded of Sridevi-Anil Kapoor and Urmila Matonkar starrer Judaai.

In the movie also, Sridevi gets her husband (Anil Kapoor) married to Urmila for the sake of money. However, things turn ugly when crucial moments tests their dynamics. Hence, in this Andhra incident also, it will be interesting if another follow up comes over.

Rough sea conditions, strong waves, and gusty winds are also witnessed at Puri beach in Odisha today.

Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a red alert in Andhra Pradesh after Cyclone Asani changed its direction. IMD said that by Wednesday morning, a cyclonic storm is likely to reach the west-central Bay of Bengal, close to the Andhra Pradesh coast. Meanwhile, Odisha and West Bengal are also bracing for the cyclonic storm’s wrath.

It is reported that 50 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been earmarked for Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal as cyclone Asani has intensified and is near the east coast with a wind speed of up to 105 kmph.

Ajay Bhalla, Union Home Secretary on Tuesday reviewed preparedness for the severe cyclone. As the cyclone Asani is approaching Andhra Pradesh, the weather forecasting department issued a red alert in East and West Godavari, Guntur Krishna, and Vishakhapatnam districts.

IMD on Wednesday morning said that Cyclone Asani was moving at a speed of 6 kmph during the past six hours over the west-central Bay of Bengal about 50 km south-southeast of Machilipatnam in Andhra Pradesh, 150 km southwest of Kakinada, 290 km southwest of Visakhapatnam, 530 km southwest of Gopalpur in Odisha and 640 km southwest of Odisha’s Puri Odisha.

The weather forecasting agency also informed that by May 12 morning the cyclonic storm is likely to weaken gradually into a depression. However, it is expected to move nearly northwards over the next few hours, then slowly recurve north-northeastwards along the coastlines of Narsapur, Yanam, Kakinada, Tuni, and Visakhapatnam from noon to dusk today, before emerging into the west-central Bay of Bengal off the coasts of North Andhra Pradesh by night.

Rough sea conditions, strong waves, and gusty winds are also witnessed at Puri beach in Odisha today. Hrushikesh Panda, in charge of the Puri MeT department, said that the waves are reported above normal with 30kmph wind speed in the morning and along with it Puri district reported 9mm rainfall last night.
