Ashfaqulla Khan was a freedom fighter, poet and Kakori martyr, who not only fought for independence but gave a number of quotes and poetry to us that still makes sure to motivate us to do revolutionary things. The revolutionary freedom fighter Ashfaqulla Khan was born on October 22, 1900, and today, it is the 121st birth anniversary of the freedom fighter.
He was born in Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh to Shafiqullah Khan and Mazharunissa. Ashfaqullah along with like-minded freedom fighters formed the Hindustan Republican Association in 1924 after Gandhi Ji took the decision to withdraw the non-cooperation movement after the Chauri Chaura incident in 1922.
The purpose of the Hindustan Republican Association was to organize an armed revolution to achieve freedom in India. In 1925, Khan with other revolutionaries like Chandrashekhar Azad, Keshab Chakravarty, Banwari Lal, among others decide to loot the government treasury that was carried in the trains, and they looted the trains that were carrying Indian money in Kakori near Lucknow.

Even after a month, none of the train robbers was arrested. However, later the Britishers found them, they were arrested and later gave death sentences to them. Ashfaqulla was hanged on December 19, 1927, at Faizabad jail.

BJP MP Maneka Gandhi says ISKCON group biggest cheat, sells cows to butchers, temple authority responds
Cow and bull protection and care have been at the forefront of ISKCON’s efforts, not just in India but across the globe. Contrary to the allegations, the cows and bulls are not sold to butchers but are raised for their lifespan, the ISKCON temple spokesperson said.

Bhartiya Janta Party MP Maneka Gandhi made controversial remarks against the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) temple. Maneka Gandhi said ISKCON is the biggest cheat in the country, it sells cows from its cowsheds to butchers.
After her scathing attack on the religious body, the temple authority refuted all the allegations made by the BJP MP and issued a letter stating unsubstantiated and false claims.
The national spokesperson of the ISKCON temple Yudhistir Govinda Das took to X, formerly Twitter and said response to the unsubstantiated and false statements of Maneka Gandhi.

Bank holidays in October 2023: Banks will remain closed for 16 days, check details
On October 24, a maximum number of banks will also remain non-functional because of the Dussehra holiday.

In October 2023, banks in various states of the country will witness 18 days of holidays, including Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays. It is to be noted that bank holidays will vary from state to state. The Reserve Bank of India regulates the functions of banks and decides their schedules and holidays for the entire year.
As per the Reserve Bank of India guidelines, both public sector banks and private sector banks do not work on Sundays and on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. The banks also remain closed on public holidays, including regional holidays which are decided by the state governments.
In the month of October, banks across the country will remain closed on national holidays like Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. Reportedly, on October 24, a maximum number of banks will also remain non-functional because of the Dussehra holiday. Bank customers are advised to plan the bank-related works accordingly to avoid any last minute hassle. According to reports, internet banking services and ATMs will remain operational throughout the country on all days.

Delhi’s first woman auto driver attacked during road rage in Mehrauli

The victim Sunita Chaudhary, a resident of Malviya Nagar was chased and attacked. She suffered injuries on her face and leg in the shocking incident.
Sunita Chaudhary filed a complaint with the police, as per the complaint the conflict erupted when her auto had a minor collision with another driver’s auto. After a minor crash, the argument escalated with another auto driver and the assailant attacked her with stones.
Sunita tried to contact PCR at least 50 times but there was no response. She also contacted the police but nobody came for help, as per the reports.
When she picked up a passenger from Munirka to the Mehrauli bus stand, Chaudhary said that another auto-rickshaw carrying its own passenger scraped her vehicle. The incident happened in a crowded lane and resulted in damage to the left side of Chaudhary’s autorickshaw, she said.
After dropping off a passenger at the Mehrauli bus stand, she noticed another autorickshaw parked nearby. Being curious about the earlier rash driving by its driver, she approached him and asked for an explanation. Unfortunately, he became very angry and started hitting and kicking Chaudhary’s parked auto, causing even more damage. She has alleged this incident as an act of aggression.
While driving an auto, Chaudhary narrowly avoided being hit by a man driving an auto. Despite the presence of several bystanders, no one came to her aid as the man started throwing bricks and stones at her. Chaudhary has been working as an auto driver in the city for twenty years. The Mehrauli police station has registered a case against the man under sections 427, 341, 323, and 279 of the Indian Penal Code for causing damage, wrongful restraint, causing hurt, and reckless driving on a public road.
