BJP likens Kamal Haasan with Hafiz Saeed over actor’s ‘Hindu terrorists’ remark

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Haasan had said that “right wing cannot challenge talk of Hindu terrorists because terror has spread into their camp as well”, BJP says comment reflects a “sick mind”
Tamil actor Kamal Haasan’s remarks about “Hindu terrorists” has predictably drawn the ire of the BJP and its parent organisation, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Demanding an apology from the veteran actor who is busy planning his foray into politics, the BJP has said that by making the controversial remarks, Hassan “is actually joining the ranks of P. Chidambaram, Hafiz Saeed”.
The row is over comments made by Haasan in his column for the Tamil weekly Ananda Vikatan, in which he wrote: “In the past, Hindu right-wing groups would not indulge in violence, but they would hold a dialogue with the opposite parties on their arguments. But this old tactic was defeated and what they started to do is use muscle power. They started indulging in violence.”
The actor went on to say that “the right wing cannot challenge talk of Hindu terrorists because terror has spread into their camp as well.”
Hitting out at the Tamil film icon, BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said: “We have seen in the past decade how Sonia Gandhi-Rahul Gandhi led Congress party drew a strategy of maligning the Indian society and Hindu community only to appease the Muslim vote bank. It was done by the former home ministers P. Chidambaram and Sushil Kumar Shinde…When Kamal Hassan makes similar comments, he is actually joining the ranks of P. Chidambaram, Hafiz Saeed and is possible angling to become an extension of the Congress Party.”
Rao added: “Haasan is trying to appease Muslim fundamentalists and anti-Hindu zealots to emerge as a fringe group. We are very curious to know what he thinks of Zakir Naik, PFI in Kerala and Left Front’s reign of ‘red terror’ in Kerala?”
Seeking an apology from the Tamil actor RSS ideologue Rakesh Sinha tweeted:[/vc_column_text][vc_raw_html]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[/vc_raw_html][vc_column_text]Karnataka BJP leader S Prakash also hit out at Kamal Haasan and asserted that if the actor has any evidence to prove the existence of Hindu terror then he should “provide those to NIA (the National Investigation Agency)… to punish those who indulged in such activities” while adding that “making such irresponsible statement without any evidence only reflects his (Haasan’s) sick mind”.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
