Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that the company linked to Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament Nusrat Jahan duped people. In a response, Trinamool MP Jahan refuted the charges made by BJP and said she had nothing to do with the company anymore as she resigned from the company back in 2017.

Shankudeb Panda, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has lodged a complaint with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) accusing a company associated with Trinamool Congress MP Nusrat Jahan of cheating people out of Rs 5.5 lakh by falsely offering to sell them

A BJP leader revealed that Jahan was the director of Seven Sense International, a real estate company that collected funds from 429 employees of the Indian Overseas Bank. In exchange, the company promised to provide them with apartments located on the outskirts of Kolkata.

It has been reported that Shankudeb Panda claimed that individuals who were cheated in a scam had already taken legal action, resulting in a court in Alipore issuing a summons to Jahan.

However, Jahan did not appear in court. Panda was accompanied by those who claim to be victims of the scam when he visited the ED office. Additionally, Panda accused Jahan, who is both an actor and a politician, of using the money for her production company.

Panda stated that Nusrat Jahan has been linked to Seven Sense International, a company that has collected Rs 5.50 lakh from individuals since 2014, promising flats that were never delivered.

Despite the victims’ attempts to report the crime to the police, no action was taken until they sought legal help. Panda accompanied them to the ED with all the necessary documents, and if the ED fails to investigate, they will approach the high court.

According to Panda, Jahan is utilizing the victims’ funds for her production house, making it a significant scam.

Nusrat Jahan, among eight people who were accused in a case filed under Sections 420, which states, cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, 406 states that criminal breach of trust and 34, acts by several people with common intention.

The other accused in the case are Rakesh Singh, Raju Chakraborty, Ruplekha Mitra, Bishnu Das, Mahua Singh, Binayak Sen and Koushik Das, as per the summons issued by the Alipore court.

Supreme Court asks AAP to vacate its Delhi office by June 15

The Aam Aadmi Party has been ordered to vacate its Delhi office by June 15. The Supere Court gave the rulling party extra time in light of the impending Lok Sabha elections.

Since the office is situated on land that the Delhi High Court was granted in order to expand a district court, the Aam Aadmi Party is ordered to leave the space.

In addition, the Supreme Court directed AAP to apply to the Land and Development Office for a land allocation for its offices.

It has mandated that the party’s request be processed by the Land and Development Office in a timeframe of four weeks. Additionally, it requested that the department notify everyone of its decision by the deadline.

The Aam Aadmi Party argued that since its party office is close to the Rouse Avenue court, it is not an encroachment because it was allocated long before the space was set aside for the court’s expansion, as per a report.

According to AAP lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the NCT used the land from 1993 till 2015, when AAP was granted ownership. He mentioned that the AAP is one of the six national parties in India.

AM Singhvi said the BJP has a comparable-sized office in the same location. He did add, according to the website, that they are put on the road two months before the elections.

Singhvi said the AAP has been asked to establish an office in Delhi’s Badarpur area. In addition, he claimed that LNDO has two plots at the same location that AAP could be granted.

All other parties would have to follow suit if the AAP was compelled to relocate to Badarpur. The party ought to secure a location in the heart of Delhi, he said.

The AAP was later given till June 15, 2024, by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, to leave the property so that land allotted to extend district judiciary footprint can be used.
