Odisha: 3 held for procuring fake SIM cards, sharing OTPs with Pakistan’s ISI
Three people were arrested in Odisha on Sunday for allegedly procuring huge number of SIM cards fraudulently and sharing one-time passwords (OTPs) with agents of the Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence and Pakistani Intelligence Operatives, officials said.

According to officials, based on specific inputs, a team of Special Task Force (STF) of the Odisha Police conducted raids in Nayagarh and Jajpur district on Sunday and arrested three accused persons identified as Pathanisamant Lenka, a 35-year-old ITI Teacher, Saroj Kumar Nayak, (26) and Soumya Pattanaik, (19).
An official of the Odisha STF said that various incriminating materials including 19 mobile phones, 47 pre-activated SIM Cards, 61 ATM cards, 23 SIM covers and laptops were seized from the possession of the accused.
Giving details, the official said that accused were engaged in fraudulently acquiring a large of SIM cards registered under other people’s names and using them to generate OTPs which they allegedly shared with their clients, some of whom included PIO and ISI agents in Pakistan and India.
The official said that the accused were being paid for this “service” by some Pakistani agents based in India and were also reportedly in touch with a female PIO agent who was arrested last year in an Official Secrets Act and Honey-Trap case in Rajasthan.

The Odisha STF further said that the OTPs were reportedly being used to create fake social media accounts on several platforms like Whatsapp, Telegram, Facebook and Instagram and also on online shopping sites like Amazon and Flipkart.
They said the SIM cards were also being used to open email accounts, adding that all this was done so that it may seem that the accounts are Indian but are actually being operated from Pakistan.
The social media accounts, they said, were intended to be used for various anti-India activities like Spying, communication with terrorists, radicalization, running anti-India propaganda, fuelling anti-India/ divisive sentiments on social media, sextortion, Honey-trapping etc.
The accounts being registered and linked to Indian mobile numbers was to give them legitimacy in people’s eyes.
The STF further said that online shopping accounts created by using these nefarious methods were used to supply items to terrorists, anti-India elements etc.
The Pakistani spies were also creating and selling mule accounts through social media groups, which are used in various crimes, they said.

Tamil Nadu bus accident: PM Modi announces ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to kin of deceased, Rs 50,000 to injured
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next kin of the deceased.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday expressed grief over the loss of lives due to a bus accident near Coonoor in Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
On Saturday evening, nearly nine people died and several others were injured after a tourist bus carrying 55 passengers fell into a gorge near Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor. The bus was travelling from Ooaty to Mettupalayam when the incident occurred.
Earlier on Saturday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the next kin of the deceased. Who died in the bus accident. The Chief Minister also affirmed that Rs 1 lakh would be provided as financial assistance to those seriously injured in the incident. Furthermore, Rs 50,000 would also be given to those who received minimum injuries.
Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi expressed grief at the unfortunate incident. He expressed that he is deeply saddened by the loss of lives in a bus accident near Coonoor, Nilgiris. He voiced that his thoughts are with the bereaved families. He wished speedy recovery of the injured.
Police said that the bus was on its way from Ooty to Mettupalayam in the Coimbatore district of the Southern state when the accident took place. They affirmed that the injured were hurried to the Coonoor government hospital for treatment.
Previously, speaking to ANI on the matter, Nilgiris District collector Aruna stated that the bus was carrying 60 passengers and that the rescue team was deployed in full force. Aruna affirmed that they have rescued all the passengers, eight people have been declared dead. The district collector mentioned that the government has acted in full force.

PM Modi to announce projects worth Rs 13,500 crore in Telangana today

According to him, these initiatives span a variety of industries, including roadways, connectivity, energy, railroads, and more.
The Prime Minister claimed that they will be very helpful to the people of Telangana.
The 108 km long four lane access controlled greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam and the 90 km long four lane access controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada section of NH-163G will both have their foundation stones laid by PM Modi as part of the Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated in a statement that the overall cost of these road improvements will be around Rs 6,400 crore.
The 59-kilometer-long portion of NH-365BB from Suryapet to Khammam will be four-laned, and Prime Minister Modi will dedicate this project to the nation.
The project, which was constructed for roughly Rs. 2,460 crore as part of the Bharatmala Pariyojana, runs along the Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam Corridor.
37 km of the Jaklair-Krishna New Railway Line will also be dedicated by the prime minister. The new rail line stretch, which was constructed at a cost of more than Rs 500 crore, officially places portions of the underdeveloped Narayanpet district on the railway’s map.
