But the fans of IPL in Afghanistan cannot watch the matches, because the new Taliban regime in Afghanistan has banned its telecast in the country, as they believe that, cheerleaders dancing during the match with open hair is against Islamic culture. Apart from cheerleaders dancing during the match, the women who are going to watch matches in stadium without covering their heads has been termed as un-Islamic and the government there do not want to send wrong messages to the people of Afghanistan.

Former Afghanistan Cricket Board media manager and journalist, M. Taliban has banned most forms of entertainment, including women playing any kind of sports.

Afghanistan cricketers Rashid Khan, Mohammed Nabi and Mujeeb-ur Rahman are playing in IPL. Rashid Khan, who recently left the captaincy of Afghanistan, is very disappointed and disgruntled with the latest developments in Afghanistan.
