PM Modi to inaugurate Atal Bridge on Sabarmati river

The Atal Bridge is nearly 300 meters long and 14 meters wide in the middle. It connects the flower garden on the western end of the riverfront and the upcoming arts and cultural centre on the eastern end.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will E-inaugurate Atal Bridge on the Sabarmati river on Saturday evening. He will also inaugurate a 470-acre Smriti Van Memorial in Bhuj.

It has been built to celebrate the spirit of resilience shown by the people after the death of around 13,000 people who had lost their lives during the 2001 earthquake which had its epicentre in Bhuj. The Memorial carries the names of the people who had lost their lives during the earthquake.

According to the Prime Minister’s office (PMO), at around 5 PM, Prime Minister will address a programme in Gandhinagar, marking the commemoration of 40 years of Suzuki in India.

PM Modi said on Twitter that he would also take part in the Khadi Utsav which was being organised at the iconic Sabarmati Riverfront. This programme celebrates India’s vibrant and diverse Khadi tradition.

The PMO said that It has been a constant endeavour of the Prime Minister to popularise Khadi, generate awareness about Khadi products and promote the use of Khadi amongst youth. As a result of the efforts of the Prime Minister, since 2014, sale of Khadi in India has witnessed a four-fold increase, whereas, in Gujarat, the sale of Khadi has witnessed a massive eightfold increase.

Ahmedabad Municipal Cooperation tweeted that the Sabarmati Riverfront just got better as they opened doors to the Atal Bridge. The modern marvel would be E-Inaugurated by PM Modi on August 27.

The bridge is 300 meters long and 14 meters wide in the middle. It connects the flower garden on the western end of the riverfront and the upcoming arts and cultural centre on the eastern end.

Sharing photos of the bridge, PM Modi said that the Atal Bridge look spectacular.

AAP leader Satyendar Jain’s housekeeping services in jail, CCTV goes viral | Watch

Satyendar Jain had also requested a Delhi Court to provide him with special fruit/ vegetable items owing to his religious beliefs from the Jail authorities.

Aam Aadmi Party Leader, Satyendar Jain has yet again come to the limelight after CCTV footage of his jail getting housekeeping services goes viral. AAP leader’s recent jail videos have caused a lot of stir recently where he was seen getting massages from fellow inmates, as well as getting food items that go against the prison rules.

In the video, 2 men can be seen cleaning the jail cell of Satyendar Jain where the AAP leader is currently staying. The men in the video can be seen cleaning Jain’s bed and taking care of other amenities. The video also shows another man sweeping the floors where Jain is residing.

Recently the AAP leader had come to the center of a stir after his videos of getting a massage from another inmate, as well as getting food items that were not given allowed according to the regulations of the prison policy.

Satyendar Jain has been in Judicial custody in connection to a money laundering case that is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate.

Satyendar Jain’s special food request from Delhi Court

Satyendra Jain had also requested a Delhi Court to provide him with special fruit/ vegetable items owing to his religious beliefs from the Jail authorities. The Court on Saturday dismissed his request after stating the that the state can’t provide preferential treatment to him and also highlighted that he was previously getting food items without the approval of the Jail authorities which goes against the Prison Regulations.

BJP on AAP leader

The Bharatiya Janata Party had launched an attack on the Aam Aadmi Party after the video emerged from his jail cell. BJP’s Shehzad Poonawala in a Tweet attacked the Aam Aadmi Party and its leader by stating and terming Jain’s cell to be king’s courtyard.

The BJP leader also highlighted that Satyendar Jain has been getting VVIP services from 8-10 people as he also recollected his previous videos where he was getting massages, TV, mineral water, fruits, dry fruits, and meals from the Jail authorities. Poonawala also questioned the state and affairs of the Tihar Prison system.

Congress uploads video of BJP worker complaining of LPG prices, attacks Union Minister Smriti Irani | Watch

The Congress uploaded the video with a Tweet where the grand old party also wrote and highlighted the irony of Smriti Irani’s protest against the LPG prices back when they were 400 Rs.

The grand old party on Saturday launched an attack on Union Minister Smriti Irani as they uploaded a video of her being questioned by Bharatiya Janata Party’s worker over the LPG prices. A BJP worker was pleading for respite in LPG prices from the Union Minster Smriti Irani which was recorded in a video.

In the video, a woman can be seen standing in front of BJP’s Smriti Irani and asking her for relief in inflating LPG prices. The woman can be heard talking about her own struggle in tackling the issue as she stated that she has 3 daughters and claimed that there has been a rampant increase in inflation which translated to the increase in prices of LPG.

The woman can further be heard saying due to inflation she is forced to work and by the end, she pleaded for some relief in LPG prices. Union Minister Smriti Irani can be seen patiently and discerningly listening to her plea to the government. The BJP workers, present at the program can also be seen applauding the question in a form of solidarity.

The Congress uploaded the video with a Tweet where the grand old party also wrote and highlighted the irony of Smriti Irani’s protest against the LPG prices back when they were 400 Rs. The grand old party further added that now she is silent, implying that the Union Minister has failed to bring respite despite now being in power

The attack by the grand old party comes amidst the ongoing row over Rahul Gandhi’s aarti form for which the former Congress President, Rahul Gandhi, got trolled by some in the BJP including Union Minister Smriti Irani.

BJP’s Smriti Irani had stirred up a conversation over the form of Rahul Gandhi’s Aarti where he can be seen performing the Aarti anti-clockwise. The Union Minister added to the trolling and criticism of Gandhi as she edited Rahul Gandhi’s Aarti Photo during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and rotated it to make it look like it is a clockwise motion.

Irani, in her tweet, also slyly described the photo of the Congress MP to look fine after her editing. The grand old party was infuriated by the Irani’s tweets as they dug up a video of Modi performing Aarti in a similar way to retort to BJP’s claims.

Clockwise, anticlockwise: BJP finds fault with Rahul Gandhi’s Aarti move

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi along with his sister and general secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi had held an Aarti with the Brahmapuri Ghat’s priest. The video of his Aarti went viral which triggered a row over the right method to perform Aarti by the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Aarti ceremony was held during Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra which recently entered Madhya Pradesh.

BJP Amit Malviya and Smriti Irani Trolled the grand old party’s leader Rahul Gandhi, however, the Congress party leaders also went on to counter the BJP’s claims which ended up in an online stir between the two partys.

BJP’s Amit Malviya on Saturday took to Twitter to upload a clip from Rahul Gandhi’s Aarti ceremony during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and remarked that Aarti is done clockwise and substantiated his claims by using alleged scientific reasoning which stated that the earth moves in a clockwise direction and hence environmental frequencies are in sync with the movement.

Malviya further termed Rahul Gandhi as an opportunist Hindu and claimed that he is making a spectacle of himself in public.

Union Minister Smriti Irani added to the trolling of Rahul Gandhi and tweeted a rotated photo of the Congress leader and stated that now she has corrected Rahul’s methods.

Congress’s retort, Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena’s remark on BJP’s trolling

Congress’s spokesperson Supriya Shrinate, infuriated by the claims of the BJP leaders went a step further and dug out an old video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi where he can be seen performing the Aarti the same way Rahul Gandhi was.

Shrinate in her Tweet further sarcastically questioned BJP’s Amit Malviya and Smriti Irani who had objected to the methods of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi.

Uddhav-led Shiv Sena’s Priyanka Chaturvedi also chimed in to question Smriti Irani’s take and attacked her for allegedly making fun of the Hindu Rituals.
