On Friday, the Rouse Avenue Court, Delhi partly allowed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s application by granting him a no objection certificate (NOC) for the issuance of an ordinary passport valid for 3 years.

Rahul Gandhi surrendered his diplomatic passport after he was disqualified as an MP after the conviction order in the Modi surname criminal defamation case in a Surat Court in March this year.

Gandhi had sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the issuance of an ordinary passport before the Court.

The Congress leader is an accused in the National Herald Case of which BJP leader Subramanian Swamy is the complainant.

Swamy opposed Gandhi’s plea syaing that if the leader will be allowed to travel abroad, it may affect the ongoing investigation in the National Herald case.

Swamy said before the court that the passport shall be allowed for a year and be renewed every year.

The court observed that the National Herald matter is ongoing since 2018 and has been making foreign visit. It added that there is no concern of him fleeing away or absconding and it is fundamental right to travel.

Swamy also stated that Rahul Gandhi’s citizenship was under question as he held a British citizenship, to which, Gandhi’s counsel Tarannum Cheema opposed saying two petitions demanding criminal proceedings on the citizenship matter had earlier been dismissed by the higher courts.

The Congress leader is expected to fly to the US next week, On June 4 he would be addressing a public rally at Madison Square Garden, New York, it would be Gandhi’s first public rally in USA.

Gandhi is also expected to deliver a talk at the Stanford University.

The National Herald matter is case based on a private criminal complaint by Subramaniam Swamy against former Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and others, alleging them for cheating, conspiracy and criminal breach of trust.

Rashtriya  Lok Janshakti Party (RLJP) President  Pashupathi Kumar Paras on Tuesday resigned from the Modi cabinet, a day after his party was denied any seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. He said the NDA alliance announced the list of 40 candidates for Bihar Lok Sabha election.

He said his party had 5 MPs and they had worked with utmost sincerity. He added injustice has been done to him and his party. As a result he is resigning from the post of the Union Minister. He had on Friday accused the BJP of not doing justice to his LJP faction and indicated that he may walkout of the ruling National Democratic Alliance. He said they are free to go anywhere and the doors are open.

On Monday, the NDA partners announced seat sharing in Bihar. According to the deal, the BJP will contest 17 seats, while Nitish Kumar led JD(U) will contest 16 and Chirag Paswan’s LJP will fight on 5.

Chirag-led LJP will contest on 5 seats- Jamui, Khagariya, Samastipur, Hajipur and Vaishali. In the last election, the undivided LJP had won 6 seats. Pashupati Paras was expecting these seats for his party. But the BJP went with Chirag. There was no mention of seat sharing with the LJP faction led by Minister Pashupati Paras. When Bihar BJP chief Samrat Chaudhary was asked about it, he said talks with him are undergoing.

Jitan Ram Manjhi-led Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) and Rashtriya Lok Samta Party (RLSP) will contest 1 seat each. Among the key seats that the BJP will be contesting from are Pashchim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Aurangabad, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Muzzaffarpur, Maharajganj, Saran, Begusarai, Nawada, Patna Sahib, Patliputra, Aara, Buxar and Sasaram.

The JD(U) has been given Valmikinagar, Sitamadhi, Jhanjharpur, Supaul, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnia, Madhepura, Gopalganj, Siwan, Bhagalpur, Banka, Munger, Nalanda, Jehanabad and Sheohar seats.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his Shakti remarks and said every mother and daughter is a form of Shakti in the country. He was addressing a Lok Sabha election rally in Telangana’s Jagtial.

He talked about how the landing point of Chandrayaan 3 is also named Shiv-Shakti. He said the fight is between those who want to finish Shakti and those who worship Shakti. He said Muqabla 4 June ko ho jaega. Earlier on Sunday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi spoke at the closing ceremony of the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Mumbai. He compared the NDA regime to the Hindu symbol of Shakti which is often associated with Maa Durga.

He said in Hinduism, there is a term called Shakti. He said they are fighting against that Shakti. On being asked what is that Shakti? He responded by saying that the soul of the King is in EVM and every institution of the country in ED, CBI and Income Tax department.

Rahul Gandhi made a scathing attack on the prime minister and said Modi is a mask who works for the Shakti. He said PM Modi is a shallow man who doesn’t have a 56 inch chest. In response the BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya is a Hinduphobic and misogynist. He reminded the people how another prominent leader of the INDIA Bloc Udhayanidhi Stalin issued statements against Sanatan Dharma. He said after Udhayanidhi Stalin called for the annihilation of Sanatan Dharma, it is now Rahul Gandhi’s turn to denigrate Shakti.

Raut alleged the BJP was responsible for scams such as Rafale and electoral bond. He said the BJP is responsible for inflicting poverty. He said those who have a king, their subjects suffer from diseases. Raut added the UBT led Shiv Sena only want the Election Commission to ensure free and fair elections.

Earlier on Friday Raut accused the BJP of being core beneficiary of the electoral bonds purchased by gaming and gambling companies. He alleged the BJP of being involved in the biggest scam in the country. According to Raut the scam involves gaming and gambling companies purchasing electoral bonds and channeling the funds directly into the bank accounts of the BJP.
