Rahul Gandhi takes jibe at PM after China releases new Map with Indian territory, says entire Ladakh knows
Gandhi said, he had been saying for years that what the PM said, that not one inch of land was lost in Ladakh, is a lie.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address China’s actions along the Indian border on Wednesday, a day after China issued a new map that included Indian territories.
Rahul Gandhi called the map a very serious issue and called the prime minister to address China.
The Congress leader further claimed that the Prime Minister had lied when he said that China had not grabbed even a single inch of Ladakh.
Gandhi said, he had been saying for years that what the PM said, that not one inch of land was lost in Ladakh, is a lie. The entire Ladakh knows that China has transgressed. He also said, this map issue is very serious. They have taken away the land. PM should say something about it, the Congress leader added.
China issued a revised edition of its standard map on Monday that includes Taiwan, the disputed South China Sea, Arunachal Pradesh, and the Aksai Chin region.
The central government strongly protested it to Beijing in response. According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), China’s activities have done nothing but complicate the resolution of the boundary dispute.
During an interview, minister of External Affairs S. Jaishankar said, maps released by China include territories that do not belong to them. The minister also said, it’s an old habit. This doesn’t alter just because maps featuring sections of India are issued, he added. Our region is defined quite clearly by our administration. Making ludicrous claims does not grant you ownership of other people’s lands, Jaishankar said.
We have today lodged a strong protest with the Chinese side through diplomatic channels on the so-called 2023 standard map of China that stakes claim to India’s territory, MEA spokeswoman Arindam Bagchi said. He also said, they have rejected these assertions because they are unfounded. Such Chinese actions just make it more difficult to settle the boundary dispute, he said.

Shah said voter and Aadhar cards are being openly and illegally distributed to infiltrators in the state. He asked if development ever going to take place in Bengal? He said this is the reason Mamata Banerjee is opposing CAA. Shah said CAA is the law of the country and no one can stop it.
CAA was passed by the Indian parliament in 2020. CAA offers citizenship to religious minorities who entered India through Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan before 2015. According to the Trinamool Congress the CAA is unconstitutional as it excludes Muslims and links citizenship to faith in a secular country.
The Centre had said the process for making news laws for CAA is going to start soon. Union Minister of state for home affairs Ajay Kumar Mishra had said the rules for CAA will be framed by March 30, 2024. Shah in his address at the esplanade said Banerjee government and the communists have ruined the state of Bengal. He said figures suggested election violence is the highest in Bengal all over India.
The home minister was confident the Bharatiya Janta Party will form government in Bengal with two thirds majority in the state elections in 2026. Shah urged the people of Bengal to ensure BJP wins with flying colours in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He requested the people to make PM Modiji the prime minister again. The BJP had won 18 seats which is the highest ever of the state’s 42 seats in the last state elections in 2019.
