Samajwadi Party leader Swami Prasad Maurya, who was earlier in Yogi Adityanath’s cabinet, on Monday alleged foul play of EVM and said that Samajwadi Party won 304 seats in ballot paper counting, whereas BJP only won 99 seats.

He shared the figures on Twitter and raised questions about EVM, days after losing the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections.

In a tweet, he wrote that the Samajwadi Party won 304 seats in the ballot paper counting while the BJP won on just 99 seats. However, when the counting was done from EVM, the BJP won. This means there is some foul play in this.

Swami Prasad Maurya stood from Failzalnagar’s seat and he lost the election by over 45,000 votes. He was defeated by Surendra Singh Kushwaha of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In the elections, Maurya got 70,153 votes, whereas Kushwaha got over 1,15,733 votes.

On the other hand, Samajwadi Party won 125 seats, and it was an improvement for the Akhilesh Yadav-led party from 2017 as they won 47 seats in the earlier election.
