Sanjay Manjrekar not happy with this Indian bowler in Test team, says not the same bowler he saw 18 months back
With economy rates of 6.5 and 5.9, Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Siraj were the most expensive bowlers on the final day of the Edgbaston Test.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar believes that team India all-rounder Shardul Thakur is not as effective as he was around one-and-a-half years back.
Shardul Thakur is not the same bowler that he saw him around 18 months back, said Manjrekar on SonyLIV after India’s humiliating defeat in the fifth Test against England on Tuesday at Edgbaston.
While talking about another Indian pacer Mohammad Siraj, the former India batter said he has been watching Siraj’s evolution as a bowler but the seam-up delivery has just gone.
Despite this, Manjrekar has refused to rule out a fightback on Day 5 from the Indian bowlers on Tuesday. India has done this many times before and with two world-class seamers in their ranks, a comeback is certainly on the cards, he had tweeted before the start of the game on Day 5.
In the final innings of the match, Bumrahj picked 2 wickets for 74 runs while all the other Indian bowlers remained wicketless.
With economy rates of 6.5 and 5.9, Siraj and Thakur were the most expensive bowlers on the final day of the Edgbaston Test.
In its highest successful run chase on Tuesday against India, the Ben Stokes-led England has chased down the total of 378 runs with two sessions to spare. It was pacer Jasprit Bumrah-led India which was on the receiving end of England’s historic win at Edgbaston.
With the help of unbeaten centuries by Jonny Bairstow (114) and Joe Root (142), England reached home in 76.4 overs with 7 wickets in hand as the duo of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow stitched an unbeaten partnership of 269 runs to keep India at bay.
The two back-to-back dismissals by Bumrah ignited a ray of hope when England was 109/3 but unbeaten centuries from Root and Bairstow completely took an Indian victory out of the equation.
