Rishabh Pant and Dinesh KARTHIK

Seems like the England media will never learn their lessons. There have been several incidents in the past when cricketer from all round the world have called out England Cricket Board and media for their presentation and depiction of several instances.

And this time it’s the Indian Man of Honor, Dinesh Karthik who called out ECB for their dismissive headline. The best finisher of IPL 2022, DK who is known to speak his heart out took to his Twitter handle and questioned England Cricket Board for highlighting Joe Root instead of Rishabh Pant.

For the unversed, IND vs ENG 5th Test match was totally in England’s clutches when Indian Vice captain played attacking cricket and broke the backbone of England’s bowling team. He did not only make his 5th Test century but also broke MS Dhoni’s record of the fastest 100 by Indian wicket keeper batsman.

And eventually, Rishabh Pant was departed by former England captain Joe Root after scoring 146 off 111 balls. And seems like apart from everything else, this was the biggest highlight for ECB. While posting the match highlight from Day 1 from Edgbaston, ECB wrote, “Joe Root dismisses Rishabh Pant.”

And seems like this portrayal didn’t go well with Dinesh Karthik. The 34 years was quick to bring this to everyone’s notice. In a tweet DK wrote, “After such an engrossing, enthralling days play, I’m sure the headline can be much better and apt than this England Cricket Board. That knock by Rishabh Pant lands the quality of test cricket played by both sides were as good as it can be and this is how you sum up a day.”

India had given a giant total of 416 runs for England to chase with the help of Pant’s 146 and Ravindra Jadeja’s 104. England was one wicket down for 16 runs when the second day match was interrupted by rain and forcing for an early lunch break.
