Former England cricketer Nick Compton has faced backlash on social media for calling Indian skipper Virat Kohli as the “most foul-mouthed individual in the world.

Taking to Twitter, the former English cricketer had called Virat Kohli the most foul-mouthed individual but heaped praise on legendary cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson and England captain Joe Root.

Later he had deleted the tweet.

Compton made this remark after India beat England in Lords’ Test which saw heavy sledging from India skipper Kohli.

Indian fans came down heavily on Compton after he said that Kohli is the most foul-mouthed cricketer. Some of the tweets pointed out instances when English cricketers gave their opposition team members a tough time on the field.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s on-field aggression and charged-up attitude once again hogged the limelight during India’s historic win over England at Lord’s where Kohli was seen in multiple verbal clash with the James Anderson, Ollie Robinson, Jos Buttler and Joe Root.  However, Kohli shook hands with the 39-year-old Anderson who is the third-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket.

Tempers flared during the second Test between England and India as several players from both sides were seen having a go at each other.
