Asia Cup 2022: Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez takes a dig at Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, says he looks confused, weak and afraid
Pakistan’s former skipper suggested that may be captaincy is burdening Rohit Sharma and that’s why he looks weak, afraid and confused during Asia Cup 2022.

The first two matches played by India in the Asia Cup 2022 have turned out to successful as Team India has qualified for the Super 4. Virat Kohli is also back in form as the former Indian skipper is the highest scorer of Asia Cup 2022, but India is still in serious trouble as the captain himself is out of form and does not seem to time the ball.
India captain Rohit Sharma opens for India and needs to play an important role in keeping the score board running but Sharma has been struggling since IPL 2022. In just tow games of Asia Cup 2022 Rohit scored 12 off 18 balls against Pakistan and 21 off 13 balls against Hong Kong. And seems like the foreign players and coaches have also got hold of this fact.

Recently, the former Pakistan skipper Mohammad Hafeez also took dig at Sharma’s captaincy and role in the Asia Cup 2022. The 41-year-old, played a video clip of Rohit Sharma returning to pavilion after a 40 runs victory against Hong Kong and said that Rohit Sharma’s body language does not seem fine.
Pakistan’s former skipper suggested that may be captaincy is burdening Rohit Sharma and that’s why he looks weak, afraid and confused during Asia Cup 2022. Hafeez further continued and said that Rohit’s form had decline since IPL and the smooth flow of runs is also missing.
Mohammad Hafeez concluded by predicting that its going to get tough for Rohit Sharma as he talks big like playing positively and branding cricket but is unable to radiate that in his performance and body language. “Rohit Sharma might not be able to lead Team India for a long time. I have always seen the MI skipper enjoying and expressing himself. But now, Sharma’s not expressing himself. I think probably because he is lost in too many things. And I feel sorry for him,” Mohammad Hafeez added.

ICC mediates between Pakistan Cricket Board and BCCI, seeks assurance from Pakistan for participation in World Cup
International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice are in Lahore, Pakistan to get assurance from the PCC on Pakistan team’s participation in the ICC Cricket World Cup due to be held in October-November.

Months ahead of ICC Cricket World Cup, tensions have already started between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice are in Lahore, Pakistan to get assurance from the PCC on Pakistan team’s participation in the ICC Cricket World Cup due to be held in October-November.
The ICC seek a confirmation from the PCB that it will not push for implementing a hybrid model for its matches in the World Cup in India.
The development comes after PCB Chief Najam Sethi stated that the Pakistan Cricket team will not travel to India if the Indian team prevents itself from visiting Pakistan for the preceding Asia Cup.
The BCCI is concerned if the hybrid model proposed by the PCB chief is accepted for the Asia Cup, the PCB might also ask the ICC to implement the hybrid model for the ICC World Cup as well.
Sethi said if the Pakistan government doesn’t approve on sending the team to India, the PCB would seek ICC to hold the matches at a neutral venue.
If this situation arrives, it would be a big setback for the both the ICC and the BCCI as India vs Pakistan match happening in India witnesses a completely packed stadium, a successful match for the Indian cricket board and International cricket council economically, whereas if it would be held in any other country it would not be able to attract a large amount of crowd in the stadium, primary reason why BCCI Secretary Jay Shah was reluctant to accept the hybrid model for the Asia Cup.
The PCB Chief has also stated that if the Asia Cup is moved to a neutral country from Pakistan, then the Pakistan Team will not participate in the Asia Cup
The ICC is trying to bring the two nations into board together on the matter.

The Master Blaster also noted that Shubman Gill had a calm demeanour but that didn’t keep him quiet in his pursuit of runs and frenetic running to convert singles into doubles and the twos into threes,
Former India fast bowler Atul Wassan reacted to the tweet. He said Gill will swallow the iconic trio of Kohli, Rohit and Dhoni as he grows as a cricketer. Wassan noted that Chennai Super Kings talisman MS Dhoni would be the next to feel the heat from Gill’s Gujarat Titans as they face each other in the final of IPL 2023. Being a grounded player, Gill was not losing focus as many others have after sparkling in a few matches. Another person said that God had given his verdict. IPL 2023 playoffs scenario: What LSG’s win over MI means for RCB,CSK and others
If LSG wins their last league game ,they will have 17 points ,which will be enough to advance .It would get complicated if they lost since five other teams ,including the Gujarat Titans ,Chennai Super Kings ,Mumbai Indians, Royal challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings ,might each have at least 16 points

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by beating five time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), have significantly boosted their chances of the making the playoffs in this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
As many as seven other teams are still competing for the remaining three spots with the defending champion Gujarat Titans being the only team to have already clinched their place in the playoffs. If MI had defeated LSG, they would have almost certainly advanced to the next round, but skipper Krunal Pandya’s team’s victory has complicated the playoff situation even further.
Here’s how the scenario is likely to play out
Lucknow Super Giants : If LSG wins their last league game, they will have 17 points which will be enough to advance to the playoffs but if they lose, things would become complicated since five other teams ,including the Gujarat Titans ,Chennai Super Kings ,Mumbai Indians, Royal challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings each have at least 16 points.
They can also qualify with 15 points ,but for that to happen ,at least two other competitors must not finish with 16 points or higher.
Mumbai Indians: With 14 points, MI needs to win their final game to improve their chances of making the playoffs. Punjab Kings, LSG , Chennai Super Kings ,and Royal Challengers Bangalore can all have 16 points or more. Net run rate will be relevant in this situation. Things could become even more difficult if Mumbai loses their final game since five teams could conceivably find themselves tied for the final playoff berth with 14 points
Chennai Super Kings : With 15 points ,CSK would be eligible for the playoffs with a victory over Delhi Capitals in their upcoming match. However, a loss puts them in a difficult situation because five teams might end the league stage with 16 points or more. With a win over DC, CSK might even place among the top two teams.

Bangalore Royal Challengers: Thanks to their most recent victory over Rajasthan Royals ,RCB has a strong net Run Rate of 0.166.With Victories in their last two games, RCB can also guarantee a post season position. But even a single set back could endanger their position.
Punjab Kings: The team captained by Shikhar Dhawan has a problem with their Net Run Rate of -0.268.Winning both of the upcoming matches is almost required if Punjab Kings want to complete the league portion of the season among the top 4 teams. Due to the low NRR, they could be eliminated with just one loss. They will undoubtedly benefit from big victories in the upcoming two games.
Rajasthan Royals: One of the season’s most promising teams ,Rajasthan Royals had their entire campaign derailed after they suffered a humbling loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore the previous time. They must also hope that certain other outcomes go in their favour in addition to winning their last game by a wide margin.
Kolkata Knight Riders :With only 12 points and a NRR of 0.256, KKR’s chances of making the playoffs are in jeopardy. They must not only defeat the Lucknow Super Giants by a wide margin, but they must also anticipate the defeat of other contenders by similar wide majorities. Therefore a number of outcomes must line up for them to qualify.
