Indian Cricket phenom and former skipper of the Indian Cricket, Virat Kohli has added another accolade under his belt against Bangladesh as the star batsman becomes the second player to reach 1000 runs in T20 world cup history after Mahela Jayawardene. The star batsman was 28 runs shy of breaking former Sri Lanka’s skipper Mahila Jayawardene’s record after his 62-run inning against the Netherlands.
The star batsmen ’s consistent spell at Perth concluded quite early as Kohli could only add up to India’s tally by batting for 12 runs off of 11 balls before getting caught by South Africa. However, Virat Kohli, who is still batting against Bangladesh and has added 24 runs to India’s tally and has also gone on to break Mahela Jayawardene’s record.
The star batsman, Virat Kohli started his T20 campaign on a dominating note as the former skipper played a pivotal role in leading the Indian team to win against India vs Pakistan. Kohli in his inning against Pakistan was able to score 82 runs which helped the Indian cricket team to victory. Virat’s performance was welcomed by fans across all fraternities and places of India as even many Bollywood actors came to congratulate the phenom on his performance.
Aside from his consistent performance and breaking Mahela Jayawardene’s record, Kohli is also the leading top scorer of the tournament as he has 188 runs in the campaign.
Team India had lost the important toss at Adelaide as Shakib Al Hasan chose to field first. Rohit Sharma lost the toss of the fourth fixture of the T20 World Cup 2022. Also, Rohit Sharma revealed that Axar Patel is back in the team and has replaced Deepak Hooda. The fog over Dinesh Karthik’s participation is also faded as he’s very much in the playing XI.
