Apple to switch to type-C USB charging for upcoming iPhone devices
The changeover to a USB Type-C charger for the iPhone will be required by an EU regulation, according to Apple’s marketing chief Greg Joswiak.

A day after European Union (EU) legislators voted to ratify a common charging standard to be enforced for all smartphones sold in the bloc starting in 2024, Apple officially announced for the first time at an event that it will switch over to USB-C chargers for its upcoming iPhone devices.
According to projections, the iPhone 15 Pro, the rumoured successor to the iPhone 14 Pro, will have 8GB of RAM and a USB Type-C connection.
Apple has recently introduced the iPhone 14 Pro lineup, which included the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the only two devices this year to include the company’s top-of-the-line A16 Bionic processor. The iPhone 15 Pro versions, which should be released early in the next year, should have upgraded cameras as well.
The next iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models from the Cupertino business will feature Apple’s A17 Bionic processor. The A16 Bionic chip from this year might be included in the non-Pro variants, according to the manufacturer.
Contrary to the current generation Pro lineup, which is rumoured to have 6GB of RAM, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max successors will have 8GB of RAM. It’s important to note that Apple keeps the RAM configuration of their iPhone models a secret.
The changeover to a USB Type-C charger for the iPhone will be required by an EU regulation, according to Apple’s marketing chief Greg Joswiak.
Apple will switch the Lightning port for a USB Type-C charging port, as predicted by the research firm. This is anticipated to be the conclusion of a protracted legal battle between Apple and the EU over a standard charging connector that lasted several years.
The primary camera on the iPhone 15 models reportedly has an 8P lens, according to a Taiwanese research company, but the resolution of the sensor is yet unclear. The telephoto camera on the iPhone 15 Pro Max is anticipated to include 10x optical zoom and periscope capabilities.
While the business continues to work on its own modem, which it claims will be available by 2024, the iPhone 15 Pro series is expected to use a Qualcomm 5G modem. The future iPhone models for the following two years may not include Apple’s 5G modem, according to a previous rumour.

Adam Mosseri mentioned that the feature is similar to one that is already available for Instagram Stories.

The photo and video-sharing platform owned by Meta Platforms, Instagram, is getting a feature that will allow users to add lyrics to their reels. Instagram head at the Mark Zuckerberg-helmed social media giant, Adam Mosseri took to his Broadcast Channel to announce the update.

He added that they have seen people manually add lyrics to Reels, so he hopes that this makes it easier to use music to express oneself. He assured that they are working on more updates to get creative on Reels. He further mentioned that the feature is similar to one that is already available for Instagram Stories.
Here are the steps to add song lyrics to your Instagram Reels:
First, go to the Instagram app, followed by tapping the Reels icon at the bottom of the screen.
Then, click on the Music icon on the top of the screen and choose a song from the library or your own audio.
Next, tap on the Lyrics icon at the bottom and choose a font and a colour for the text.
Then, drag the text to the desired position and, using the slider, select the portion or part of the lyrics you want to display.
Finally, tap on the Done button and edit and share the Reel as usual.
Notably, music has become a key element in the growth of TikTok, with the platform now looking to expand its music industry links, through a new partnership with Billboard on a TikTok trending chart and even its own live music event.
Instagram stated that social media users are already manually adding song lyrics to their Reels clips, so it probably makes sense for IG to make this easier. Reports stated that the new lyrics sticker has been rolled out to all Instagram users.
