How to watch the WWDC 2022 event online?
Apple’s one of the biggest events Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC ) 2022 is all set to take place at 10 am PT (10:30 pm IST) today (June 6). During the event, the firm is likely to introduce its latest software, updates and much more.
Interested people can watch the event on Apple’s official YouTube channel. The same will be live-streamed on the company’s official website Apple.com.
This year, the WWDC will be more about the latest software, new updates, and security changes. Although, customers can also expect the latest and most feature-loaded series of iPhone 14, which the company is likely to launch at a lesser price as compared to the iPhone 13. The report also revealed that Apple may surprise the fans by launching its updated MacBook Air with an all-new retro-inspired design.
What to expect from Apple’s WWDC 2022?
Apple has been launching the latest updates for the iPhones, macOS, iPadOS and watchOS every year through WWDC and there will be no exception this year too. Apple users can expect a new version of iOS, which is likely to be out with the name iOS 16. The upcoming iOS 16 will be fasters, bugs free and feature-loaded as compared to the current iOS software. If rumors are to be believed, the company is likely to launch a new car crash detection feature, under which you can track your car through the car connect technology. However, the firm has not revealed anything regarding the same.
There are high chances that Apple might launch its much-awaited iPhone 14 series, but the company did not reveal any confirmation about it as well. The rumor also suggested that Apple might launch the M2 chipset at WWDC 2022.

Google Hangouts to shut down in November, asks users to switch over to Chat
Tech giant Google has announced that it is discontinuing its instant messaging service Google Hangouts later this year.

Tech giant Google has announced that it is discontinuing its instant messaging service Google Hangouts later this year. Google told the users that the company is starting the migration process for its users from Hangouts to the Chat platform. The tech giant confirmed that Hangouts is going away this year and users can download the data before November.
The initiative to discontinue the messaging app was first announced in October 2020, but by November 2022, it will be completely shut down. According to the company, Chat has been updated with new tools and enhanced user integration.
In a blog post, Ravi Kanneganti, Product Manager of Google Chat, said that the company is continuing its investment in Chat to help people engage and express themselves in a much better way. He further said the company is also taking steps to help remaining Hangouts users move to Chat. Users can download their Hangout data before November.
Those who are using Google Hangouts will get a pop-up screen telling them to switch to Chat in Gmail or shift it to the Chat app. The pop-up also says that if you are using Hangouts on a PC, then the users will have to either shift to Chat on the Web or download the Chat web app.

How is Google Chat different from Google Hangouts?
Chat users will be able to edit files from Docs, Slides, and even Sheets because of the side-by-side editing feature. This will help users to engage in a conversation with their colleagues or friends and collaborate on different files. Google Chat will work as a competitor to other collaborative platforms like Teams, Slack. Flock and more.
In addition, Google is introducing further advanced user experience features that will make Chat even more appealing to users. The company said that users will also be able to express themselves clearly and in a more entertaining way. The company also said that switching to the chat will be more fun whether you’re using emoticons with skin-tone selections, rich text editing to emphasize your messages, @mentions to let someone know in the group, or sending a GIF.”

Reports said the meta-owned platform has been working on this feature for a long back and has been facing some bugs, now it is all set to release the feature in India anytime soon.
As per the leak information, the platform soon will start scanning the user’s face or it will ask users to upload a short video of them, with the help of a clip, the platform will put the user in different categories like minor, adult, or senior citizens.

Reports also suggested that the platform might introduce the two age verification feature called social vouching and Al estimation, the same as it applies in the United States. Under the social vouching, users on Instagram will ask three of the user’s mutual followers to confirm their age for the first method, social vouching. The reciprocal followers have three days to respond to Instagram’s request and must be over the age of 18. In the second option, the users are likely to be asked to send a video selfie of themselves to Yoti, a third-party business that employs machine learning to determine an individual’s age.
Meanwhile, as of now, Instagram only allows users create an acount who are at least 13 years old. After being crisied by the privacy and child safety experts, the company has increased number of age-verification features and ways to distinguish between younger users and adults.
