iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max

This year, Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models are projected to become more pricey. While Apple managed to keep a reasonable pricing difference between its Pro and non-Pro models last year, things may become more difficult to justify with the forthcoming non-Pro models rumoured to include additional ‘Pro’ capabilities such as Dynamic Island and a switch to high-resolution cameras. According to a recent source, Apple is expected to hike the price of its iPhone 15 Pro models even more while including many more features than iPhone 14 Pro models.

According to a Weibo story initially discovered by MacRumours, the future iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max versions may be more expensive than the current iPhone 14 Pro variants. According to the source, the price hike was made to “widen the gap” between the incoming iPhone 15 Pro models and the iPhone 15 Plus model. According to US pricing, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro was released for $999, while the iPhone 14 Pro was released for $1099. According to MacRumours, this would boost the price of the base iPhone 15 Pro model above $1,000 this year.

According to the same Chinese source on Weibo, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will acquire more Pro features this year. As a result, Apple will need to add additional capabilities to its top-end Pro models this year in order to differentiate the two lineups in terms of pricing. According to MacRumours, with iPhone 14 and 14 Plus sales falling short of expectations, Apple is experimenting with new tactics to boost sales of its non-Pro iPhone models.

Apple used an earlier A15 Bionic processor with more GPU cores (5 in total) for enhanced performance in the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus models. It also has the same 12-megapixel camera sensors as previously, with small performance enhancements.

In India, the Apple iPhone 14 starts at Rs. 79,900, while the iPhone 14 Plus starts at Rs. 89,900. The iPhone 14 Pro costs Rs. 1,29,900, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max costs Rs. 1,39,900.

Indeed, there is enough of a pricing difference compared to US prices that it’s difficult to envision how much more Apple can explain justifying an even higher price tag if the rumour is true. According to recent reports, the iPhone 15 Pro variants would have titanium frames rather than stainless steel frames. The iPhone 15 variants are believed to use this year’s Apple A16 Bionic CPU rather than the newer silicon that is expected to be used in the Pro models.

Again, the report comes from a new Weibo source, so we recommend treating it with a pinch of salt.

Instagram new feature: Social Media users can now display song lyrics in reels

The photo and video-sharing platform owned by Meta Platforms, Instagram, is getting a feature that will allow users to add lyrics to their reels. Instagram head at the Mark Zuckerberg-helmed social media giant, Adam Mosseri took to his Broadcast Channel to announce the update.

Adam Mosseri noted that a new feature is rolling out a way to add song lyrics when editing Instagram Reels. He added that they have seen people manually add lyrics to Reels, so he hopes that this makes it easier to use music to express oneself. He assured that they are working on more updates to get creative on Reels. He further mentioned that the feature is similar to one that is already available for Instagram Stories.

Here are the steps to add song lyrics to your Instagram Reels:

First, go to the Instagram app, followed by tapping the Reels icon at the bottom of the screen.

Then, click on the Music icon on the top of the screen and choose a song from the library or your own audio.

Next, tap on the Lyrics icon at the bottom and choose a font and a colour for the text.

Then, drag the text to the desired position and, using the slider, select the portion or part of the lyrics you want to display.

Finally, tap on the Done button and edit and share the Reel as usual.

Notably, music has become a key element in the growth of TikTok, with the platform now looking to expand its music industry links, through a new partnership with Billboard on a TikTok trending chart and even its own live music event.

Instagram stated that social media users are already manually adding song lyrics to their Reels clips, so it probably makes sense for IG to make this easier. Reports stated that the new lyrics sticker has been rolled out to all Instagram users.
