A shocking incident has been reported from the Uttar Pradesh’ Brahmnagar area of Sonbhadra district on Thursday, where a wedding celebration turned into a crime scene after the groom killed his friend in a celebratory firing on Tuesday. The incident which has been recorded on camera shows that the groom, who was trying to fire gunshots in the fire, accidentally fired at his friend.

The accused has been identified as Manish Madheshia who has killed his friend Babu Lal Yadav, who was in Army. Police said, after the incident, the victim immediately been taken to the nearby hospital in UP where doctors declared him brought dead. Police also revealed that they have arrested the accused on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim’s family. The weapon which was used in the crime, which also belonged to the accused has been seized, police added.

The clip clearly shows the accused, who was trying hard to fire gunshots in the air to celebrate his wedding. But somehow, the gunpoint was shifted and accidentally killed his army friend.

Sonbhadra police also released a statement regarding the same on Twitter, where they wrote, that Groom kills friend in celebratory gunfire at wedding procession in Uttar Pradesh | WATCHin the marriage program organized in Ashirwad Vatika under the police station Robertsganj area, a person (serving in the army) Babulal Yadav died after being shot in the joyful firing by the groom Manish Madheshia.

Area police said, a further investigation is underway, and the accused will not be spared. Meanwhile, celebratory firing at public gatherings, weddings, or in any kind of rituals even with licensed guns is a criminal offense in India.

Devendra Fadnavis also met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari on Tuesday evening and this is indicating that the BJP is likely to take over Maharashtra and is setting off the end game.

The Maharashtra BJP also shared a video clip of Devendra Fadnavis in which he was seen speaking in Marathi. In the caption, it was written that he will come again, for the creation of a new Maharashtra! Jai Maharashtra.

While talking to the reporters, Devendra Fadnavis said that they will them everything tomorrow. Amidst this, senior BJP leader BL Santhosh said that this is the end of one of the darkest period of administration for Maharashtra. Along with ideological bankruptcy, unparalleled corruption, destruction of administrative apparatus, and halting of a vibrant economic environment the period also saw a new low for a major section of media.

According to reports, as Uddhav Thackeray has resigned, the floor test is now void. It is likely that Devendra Fadnavis will form the government now in Maharashtra.

While addressing the Facebook live address, Uddhav Thackeray said that he is resigning as the Chief Minister, he does not want a hand in the blood of Shiv Sainiks that may be spilt tomorrow. He also led an attack on the rebel MLAs and said that those whom they promoted and built up, are the ones who have betrayed them.

Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray resigns ahead of floor test

The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that the Thackeray-led Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government will go through the floor test on Thursday.

Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray resigned from his post late Wednesday. He resigned minutes after the Supreme Court refused to stay the floor test on June 30.

Thackeray said that he had come in an unexpected manner and he is going out in the same way. He claimed that he is not going away forever and will sit in Shiv Sena Bhawan again.

In an online address, Thackeray expressed gratitude to the people of NCP and Congress for supporting him. He further said Shiv Sena leaders Anil Parab, Subhash Desai, and Aaditya Thackeray were only present when the proposal was passed. Moreover, NCP and Congress leaders also supported the proposal.

He is satisfied that he had officially renamed Aurangabad to Sambhaji Nagar and Osmanabad to Dharashiv, Thackeray concluded.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that the Thackeray-led Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government will go through the floor test on Thursday. The bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and JB Pardiwala refused to interfere with Governor BS Koshiyari’s direction.

Uddhav Thackeray was appointed as the chief minister of Maharashtra on November 28, 2019, after a high-voltage post-electoral drama in the state. Shiv Sena, allied with Bharatiya Janata Party and contested the assembly election in an alliance.

The BJP and Shiv Sena won 105 and 56 seats respectively. Later, Shiv Sena broke the alliance and merged with NCP and Congress and formed the Maha Vikas Aghadi government.

Maharashtra government clears proposal to rename Aurangabad as Sambhajinagar, Osmanabad as Dharashiv

The Maharashtra government on Wednesday approved the proposal of renaming Aurangabad and Osmanabad on Wednesday. The party decided to name the city after the name of Chhatrapati Shivaji’s oldest son Sambhaji. While it has been decided that Osmanabad will be named Dharashiv.

Apart from this, the Maharashtra government also approved a proposal to name the upcoming Navi Mumbai International airport after the late DY Patil. The state cabinet led by Uddhav Thackeray will likely hold a meeting on Thursday regarding the same.

The party wanted to change the name a long back but their decision comes at a time when Maharashtra is witnessing one of the worst political crises, where a group of rebel MLAs led by Eknath Shinde is pointing at Shiv Sena’s core ideology.

The rebelling MLAs have criticised the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena’s commitment to Hindutva is now getting diverted, and the team Thackrey slowly is getting losing its core ideology and doing what secular parties like the Congress and the NCP want them to do.

Meanwhile, the first attempt to change the name of the city has been made in 1995 when the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) passed a resolution on the same. Then Chief Minister Manohar Joshi issued an official public notification, where he asked the people their opinion and objections to renaming the city’s name. However, things did not turn out. A Congress corporator, Mushtaq Ahmed, challenged it in the Bombay High Court. Then the case went to the Supreme Court.

As far as the name of the city is concerned, it was built-in in 1610 by Malik Ambar of the Nizam Shahi dynasty, the city was initially known as Khadki. Later, during the rule of Aurangzeb, the city has been named after him Aurangabad.
