Before becoming an actor, Bhumi Pednekar worked as an assistant director at Yash Raj Films for six years. As per records, the actor worked with Abhimanyu Ray while assisting him in casting films like Chak De! India, Rocket Singh: Salesman of The Year and Teen Pati. Following this, Bhumi Pednekar joined casting director Shanoo Sharma as an assistant director.
She is also an ardent climate activist
Beside being an actor, Bhumi Pednekar is also an ardent climate activist. In 2019, she introduced the Climate Warrior campaign to raise awareness about global warming and climate change. She also collaborated with local climate activist, Anirudh Sharma, co-creator of Air-Ink, whose invention upcycles carbon emissions to form carbon negative materials like sustainable inks, paints, coating, plastics and construction materials.
She works to raise awareness about reproductive health
In 2020, the actor collaborated with MTV to produce a web-series called Nishedh. With this initiative, she raised awareness about reproductive health among the youth and remove the stigma surrounding contraceptive care, tuberculosis and nutrition.
