Amritsar's Golden Temple

“This is Punjab, not India”, a girl was told at the Golden Temple in Punjab’s Amritsar as she was reportedly denied entry into the famed temple because of having the Indian flag painted on her face.

A video of the incident that went viral on social media platforms on Monday, shows a Golden Temple staffer telling the girl that “this is Punjab, not India”, as he denies her entry inside the premises due her having the Indian tricolour painted on her face.

Meanwhile, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee General Secretary Gurcharan Singh Grewal while apologizing for any misbehavior, claimed that the flag on the young woman’s face wasn’t a tricolour as it did not have the Ashok Chakra and might have been the flag of some political outfit.

Grewal said the Golden Temple, like every religious place, has its own set of rules and its own decorum and while everyone is welcome to visit, they have to respect the Sikh shrine’s decorum and rules.

Grewal apologized to the woman for the official’s misbehavior, however, he said the flag on her face was not the ‘Tiranga’ as it was missing the Ashok Chakra and could’ve been a political flag.

Gurcharan Singh Grewal rued that Sikhs who played a vital role in India’s independence from the British, are still the most targeted community in the country.

Meanwhile, a video of the incident was widely shared and viewed on social media sites on Monday and sparked outrage among users as they demanded an investigation into the alleged incident.

Some have attributed the incident to the alleged spread of pro-Khalistan ideology and separatism in Punjab as they dubbed the temple official who stopped the girl as a “Khalistani radical.”

One user claimed that Punjab has become a “hub of Khalistani terrorism” where “real Indians” aren’t welcome anymore.

A video circulating on social media shows an astronaut trying to drink coffee from a regular cup. But she fails. Afterwards she uses a special space cup. In the video Samantha Cristoforetti shows how astronauts drink coffee while aboard the international space station.

The space agency posted the video on X to celebrate international Coffee day. This day is celebrated each year on October 1 to promote and celebrate coffee as a beverage. In the video Samantha can be seen pouring coffee from a packet into a small jar. But she is unable to drink the coffee. Afterwards she brings a specially designed space cup. She pours coffee into the space cup.

This time she is able to drink the coffee easily. The video was posted on X on October 1. The video has got 262300 views. The video has also received more than 1900 likes. Variety of comments started coming on the video. One social media user said great balance. One X user said this video is a perfect example some problems can be solved by using the shape of the material rather than its properties.

One social media user said she wanted to have her coffee after seeing this. Another user thought it was a cool demonstration by the astraunaut. According to the NASA post, the central objective of the space is to deliver the liquid passively to the lip of the cup. The researchers have used special geometry of the cup itself, wetting conditions and surface tensions. The Cup has been kept transparent intentionally to observe all off the fluid physics which takes place in this process.

According to NASA the cups are known as microgravity cups. They are designed to help astronauts on ISS to drink coffee. These cups also help in the collection of data on the passive movement of complex fluids as part of the Capillary investigation.

Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat

On Monday at Rajasthan’s Bhilwara, train operators of the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express noticed stones and iron rods on the railroad track and quickly stopped the train using emergency brakes.

The Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Western Railway confirmed the incident and said that the RPF has opened a complaint under the Railways Act after personnel inspected the scene in the Gangarar-Soniyana section.

Giving the details about the train and the incident, the CRPO said, KM 158/18, 158/19 on the Gangarar-Soniyana section were the stopping points for Train No. 20979 Vande Bharat Udaipur-Jaipur. Two rods, each measuring one foot, were inserted into the joggle plate on the previously mentioned km, together with some ballast, which caused the standstill, he added.

The incident took place under the control of RPF/post/Bhilwara at about 09:55. The area is governed by SHO/Gangarar in the Chittaurgarh district, according to the CPRO.

DSC/Ajmer, IPF/Bhilwara, PWI/Gangarar, local Police, and GRP authorities all paid the location a visit. SP/Chittaurgarh has been informed by DSC/Ajmer. RPF has filed a lawsuit in accordance with the Railways Act. The PWI/Gangarar is also providing SHO/Gangarar with a FIR, the official continued.

Meanwhile, stones, rail fasteners and iron rods are seen being laid on the railway tracks in a video that is going popular on X, formerly Twitter.

Fortunately, the alert loco pilots on duty quickly identified the impediment and took prompt action by deploying emergency brakes, averting any potential disaster. Their quick action likely saved lives and made sure that everyone on board was safe.

The District Police and the Railway Protection Force are both aggressively looking into this worrying situation. Their efforts are concentrated on finding individuals accountable for putting lives at danger and interfering with railway operations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Udaipur-Jaipur Vande Bharat Express last month, which runs six days a week, except Tuesday. It departs from Udaipur city at 7:50 in the morning and gets to Jaipur at 14:05.

Drishyam

Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary is celebrated today on October 2nd, a beloved national holiday in India that has been embedded in our memory since we were young. But in 2015, an intriguing event occurred that gave this anniversary a new level of significance.

Whether you’re a fan of Bollywood or not, you’re probably familiar with the memorable events that took place in the movie Drishyam on this day.

As we follow the story of Vijay Salgaonkar, played by Ajay Devgn, and his family as they travel on an unexpected adventure in Drishyam. On October 3rd, they leave Panaji after attending a Satsang, enjoying Pav Bhaji, and going back home. This story gave rise to a popular meme that reappears on October 2nd like clockwork.

Even after 8 years, Drishyam fans are still in a state of shock about October 2, which played a significant role in the story. Again, this dialogue has been driving X users crazy.

When Vijay Salgaonkar reminds you, it’s not just any day—it’s October 2nd, a user noted. Another user said, Yaad hai na 2nd October ko kya hua tha, which translates, remeber what was on October 2nd.

The other said, I’m going to eat Paav Bhaji today, that’s the least I can do to celebrate a great movie like Drishyam.

Meanwhlie, here is a quick summary of the movie for those who haven’t seen it. Sam, the son of IG Meera Deshmukh (Tabu), secretly tapes Anju, Vijay’s daughter, taking a shower during a school nature camp and attempts to extort Anju using the video. Anju accidentally murders Sam while attempting to remove the evidence that could be used against her.

This paves the way for Vijay, a movie buff and cable TV provider, to come up with a plan to teach every member of the family to lie to the authorities by saying they were in Panaji on the day Sam went missing (2nd October).

Drishyam, which was directed by Nishikant Kamat, also stars actress Tabu, Rajat Kapoor, and Shriya Saran.
