K-pop band’s Indonesia concert ends abruptly after 30 faint in stampede

K-pop band NCT 127 was asked to end their first-ever Indonesia concert after thirty people fainted in a stampede.

The concert was going on near the capital Jakarta for around two hours and all of a sudden fans started moving towards the main stage.

Following the incident, police spokesperson Endra Zulphan said due to the crowd moving closer to the stage thirty people fainted and to prevent any further incidents, the authorities decided to stop the concert at 9:20 pm.

Reports also said the band was distributing freebies to fans just before the incident took place.

The incident has triggered fear among the authorities and police have allowed the second day of NCT 127’s concert scheduled for Saturday, however, banned the distribution of any freebies to fans.

NCT 127’s Taeyong apologised for creating bad memories for their fans in Indonesia. The K-pop band is touring as they released their fourth studio album 2 Baddies in September. This is their second world tour, Neo City-The Link.

A similar incident took place last month in Indonesia wherein over 130 people, including 40 children were killed in a stadium crash during a football match.

Last week, a Halloween celebration in the South Korean captial Seoul turned into a tragedy after 151 people got killed and 82 were injured in a stampede. The deceased people were in the age group of the 20s.

Reports said 97 women and 54 men who were killed in the incident hailed from Iran, China, Uzbekistan, and Norway. The Seoul metropolitan government received 270 reports of missing people due to the deadliest crowd disaster in South Korean history, reports said.

A video of the same went viral wherein people could be seen grasping for breath and succumbing to injuries. Reports also said several suffered cardiac arrest in the incident and around 400 emergency workers and 140 vehicles from around the country were deployed.

Bhatt addressed the questions he had been receiving from followers on social media and thanked them for their interest. However, he made it clear that he is not part of the upcoming season.

In an Instagram Story, Bhatt said that he does not think he is suited to a show like Bigg Boss. He explained that his personality is more aligned with calm and peaceful surroundings.

The musician said he is not someone who can shout or create unnecessary noise and described himself as a believer in calm music. He added that peaceful music has always been a source of inspiration for him.

His clarification came after his name had been circulating in discussions about possible contestants for Bigg Boss 20.

Bhagirath Bhatt’s work in films and series

Bhagirath Bhatt is known for his work as a sitarist and music composer. According to the report, he has worked on films including Padmaavat, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Border 2.

He has also been associated with projects such as Bandish Bandits and Heeramandi.

Meanwhile, the makers of Bigg Boss 20 are yet to officially reveal the complete contestant list. The new season is scheduled to premiere on September 6 at 9 PM.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.
