46 dead, 147 wounded in suicide bombing at Peshawar mosque
A suicide bombing at a mosque in Pakistan’s Peshawar city on Monday left at least 28 people dead and left another150 wounded, reports said.

A suicide bombing at a mosque in Pakistan’s Peshawar city on Monday left at least 46 people dead and left another 147 wounded, reports said.
As per reports, the attack took place when worshippers gathered inside were offering afternoon prayers in the mosque in the northwestern city, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordered by Afghanistan.
Police officials said a suicide bomber walked into the mosque where over 260 people were offering afternoon prayers and detonated his explosive vest causing a massive explosion. They said the roof of the mosque collapsed due to the blast and caved in burying many people underneath the debris.
Eyewitnesses said they saw blood-soaked survivors limping away from the blast site.
Reports quoted a police officer, Meena Gul, who survived the blast, as saying that he was inside the mosque when the blast occurred but could not provide details on the number of injured and dead in the attack.

Gul said he was disoriented and all he could hear was cries and screams after the bombing.
Officials said the wounded are being rushed to local medical facilities where many are stated to be in critical condition, raising fears that the death toll may rise.
No terrorist group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack; however, officials suspect this has all the markings of being the handiwork of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a close ally of the Afghan Taliban, who seized power in neighboring Afghanistan in August 2021 as U.S. and NATO troops were in the final stages of their pullout from the country after 20 years of war.
In March 2022, an Islamic State suicide bombing left 64 people dead at a minority Shiite mosque in Peshawar, the country’s deadliest terror attack since 2018.

Pakistan Minister says either Imran Khan or us will get murdered
Pakistan Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday courted controversy with his remarks on former Prime Minister Imran Khan saying that the PTI chief has taken the country’s politics to a point where “he (Imran Khan) will get murdered or us.”

Pakistan Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Sunday courted controversy with his remarks on former Prime Minister Imran Khan saying that the PTI chief has taken the country’s politics to a point where “he (Imran Khan) will get murdered or us.”
Rana Sanaullah, a close aide of former Pakistan premier Nawaz Sharif and a senior leader of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (N) (PML-N) told private TV channels in an interview on Sunday that Imran Khan has taken Pakistan’s to a point where only one of the two can remain—PTI or PMLN. He claimed that Khan has turned politics into animosity and now he is “our enemy” and will be treated like that.
The senior Minister said that Imran khan has put the entire existence of PMLN in jeopardy and its has come to a point where either “he (Khan) or us” will get murdered, adding that the PMLN will “go to any extent” to settle a score with the ousted Pakistan Prime Minister.
Asked if such remarks could result in anarchy in Pakistan, Sanaullah said that anarchy already prevails in the country.
Sanaullah’s comments triggered outcry among the country’s political circles, especially Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) who have termed it as an open threat to Khan’s life and urged the country’s Supreme Court to take notice.

Responding to the minister’s comments, former federal information minister and PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry termed the remarks as a “direct threat” to Imran Khan’s life from the PMLN-led coalition regime.
Chaudhry asked: “Is Sanaullah running a gang or government? Adding that the Supreme Court had rightly declared Sharifs-led PMLN a Sicilian mafia and Sanaullah’s statement is proof.
Another senior PTI leader Shireen Mazari said the comments are proof of Rana Sanaullah’s murderous intent towards Imran Khan, while urging the judiciary to take note of the threats issued against Khan.
The PTI said it has never witnessed in the past that a ruling party openly declared eliminating a popular leader of Pakistan.
In November last year, Imran Khan, 70, after surviving an assassination bid during a rally in Wazirabad in Pakistan’s Punjab, had named Rana Sanaullah behind the attempt on him.
Khan in his application to the police had also named Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a senior ISI officer for their alleged role in the bid on his life.
