[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat, a monthly radio address program, has completed three years on Sunday.  During his 30 minute address he called the monthly address as a platform where people convey their sentiments and ideas to be shared with the whole country.

On this occasion, he outlined that the issues discussed during the monthly radio address were converted into successful peoples’ movement with huge participation across the length and breadth of the country.

Prime Minister said that Swachh Bharat Abhiyan has succeeded in creating awareness among the masses where people became more conscious and responsible in making India clean.

He said that people from various walks of life are overwhelmingly participating in the Swatchta  Bharat Abhiyaan or cleanliness drive throughout the country. He also thanked media for disseminating and promoting the cleanliness drive. Prime Minister launched the campaign on 2nd October 2014.

He also asserted that awareness for using Khadi products was another success story. He claimed that during these years people have started using more Khadi products generating more employment in the industry.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Khadi is not just a cloth but a philosophy. He asked youth to adopt ‘Khadi’ to take forward this movement. He said that promoting Khadi will not only economically empower the poor but it will also generate employment opportunities.

Prime Minister’s appeal to people in his earlier episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’, to adopt and promote Khadi  has been yielding desired results as the khadi-denim variant are getting wide acceptance. Khadi has its own unique history as it was associated with the country’s freedom struggle.

Prime Minister also remembered great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jayaprakash Narayan and Nanaji Deskhmukh saying they were born in the month of October. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhay, known for his simplicity, was born on 25 September.

Remembering A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who was again born in October, Prime Minister said that, former president, while addressing youth, would always quote Nanaji Deshmukh’s model for the development of rural areas.

Prime Minister said that these great leaders gave us a new direction for nation building through their leadership and ideas in the 20th and 21st century. He said that we all should remember them to move ahead on the path of progress and growth.

BJP to contest all 13 Punjab Lok Sabha seats for first time since 1996, says state BJP chief Sunil Jakhar

Jakhar said that the Lok Sabha election was the most appropriate time for the BJP to contest independently, as the state is looking for an option

Punjab BJP state President Sunil Jakhar recently said that his party will contest all 13 Lok Sabha sears in the state independently. The BJP has not allied with the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) since 1996.

Sunil Jakhar in an interview with a news publication, said that this decision signifies a new chapter in the party’s strategy in Punjab. The BJP had allied with the SAD in Punjab for over two decades, and is considered to be a major coalition in the state’s political landscape.

The BJP state chief noted that the decision to contest independently was taken on the account of the feedback from the public and party members, reflecting a growing sentiment within the BJP to establish a stronger, independent presence in Punjab.

Jakhar continued that the Lok Sabha election was the most appropriate time for the BJP to contest independently, as the state is looking for an option. He asserted that Punjab tried out-of-the-box experiment in form of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), but are dissappointed with them.

He further highlighted the BJP’s work under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, particularly in securing minimum support prices for farmers, as key accomplishments that the party will present to the electorate. This development follows as the BJP aims to consolidate its position and expand its influence in Punjab.

Notably, the SAD was one of the oldest allies of the BJP. Nonetheless, the SAD severed ties with the NDA in September 2020 over the now repealed farm laws that saw widespread protests in northern India.

Speaking about coalition with SAD, the BJP state chief said that the alliance was not political but a social one. He added that the party is facing a battle of survival, and that its leader Sukhbir Singh Badal has sins to wash of, including the drug problem and sacrilege cases.

Election in Punjab’s 13 Lok Sabha seats is scheduled for June 1, 2024. This development is expected to significantly alter the dynamics of the electoral battle in Punjab, traditionally dominated by the SAD-BJP coalition and the Congress party.
