After the Weinstein scandal, celebrated personalities like Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, Jeremy Piven, and Brett Ratner face fresh accusations.

As the fallout from the Harvey Weinstein scandal continues, new names from the Hollywood’s A-list artistes have popped up with charges of sexual misconduct. While controversies continue over the recent charges of sexual assault leveled against Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey, other celebrated personalities – including actor-director Dustin Hoffman, “Entourage” star Jeremy Piven and “Rush Hour” director Brett Ratner – also face fresh accusations of sexual harassment. Furthermore, Mexican actor Roberto Cavazos claimed that the number of accusers against the “House of Cards” actor, Kevin Spacey, could be in dozens.

Here are a few Hollywood’s A-listers who faces fresh allegations of sexual misconduct:

Dustin Hoffman

Actress Anna Graham hunter accused that Dustin Hoffman had groped her and spoken to her inappropriately about sex in 1985 – during the shoot of ‘Death of a Salesman’ TV movie – when the actress was just 17 years old. Just a day after Hoffman issued an apology for his past behavior, another woman – writer producer Wendy Riss Gatsiounis – also came forward to claim that even she had faced harassment from the Oscar winning actor.

Gatsiounis claimed that she was been sexually harassed by the actor at the outset of a meeting held with Hoffman and Tootsie screenwriter Murray Schisgal. According to Gatsiounis, the meeting was held to discuss a prospective movie adaptation of her play ‘A Darker Propose’. The actress, who was in her 20s at that time, claimed that Hoffman allegedly asked her whether she had sex with a man over 40.

“I’ll never forget – he moves back, he opens his arms, and he says, ‘It would be a whole new body to explore.’ The whole thing was just a source of torment for me. I was just this writer and he had been my hero, and it stayed with me for a long time” said Gatsiounis.

Brett Ratner

As many as six actresses – including Natasha Henstridge, Olivia Munn and Jamie Ray Newman – alleged that they had earlier been sexually harassed by Brett Ratner – the director and producer of Rush Hour series, X-men and Horrible Bosses.

While Natasha Henstridge claimed that she was forced to perform oral sex with Ratner in 1990s, Jamie Newman alleged Ratner of “loudly describing sex acts he wanted to perform on her in explicit detail” – while she was sitting next to him in a flight.

Jeremy Piven

Over multiple posts on Twitter, actress Ariane Bellamar accused Jeremy Piven of groping her breasts in a trailer on the set of the HBO hit show Entourage.

“‘Member when you cornered me in your trailer on the #Entourage set? ‘Member grabbing my boobies on the [couch] without asking??” she tweeted.

In another Tweet the actress wrote, “Jeremy Piven, on two occasions, cornered me & forcefully fondled my breasts & bum.”

Days after Bellamar’s accusation, another actress, Cassidy Freeman alleged that Piven sexually harassed her on the day when Stephen Colbert’s Late Show dropped him from its broadcast. Over a post in her Instagram account, Freeman wrote, “I know what you did and attempted to do to me when I was far too young.”

Kevin Spacey

Following multiple allegations of sexual misconduct, Netflix on Tuesday suspended the shooting of the sixth season of the ‘House of Cards’. However, in continuing trouble against the Oscar-winning actor, new allegations have emerged against Spacey.

After actor Anthony Rapp claimed that Kevin Spacey tried to “seduce” him when he was just 14 years old, filmmaker Tony Montana came up with fresh allegations. Montana alleged that he was groped by the ‘House of Cards’ actor in a Los Angeles bar in 2013.

Cash for votes row: BJP leader Vinod Tawde sends legal notice to Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, asks them to apologise or face defamation

BJP leader Vinod Tawde, accused of distributing cash to influence voters, has sent a legal notice to Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Supriya Shrinate and Rahul Gandhi over the controversy. The BJP leader has demanded their apologies or face a Rs 100-crore defamation case.

Vinod Tawde’s legal notice came after regional party Bahujan Vikas Aghadi (BVA) leader Hitendra Thakur on Tuesday accused him of distributing Rs 5 crore at a hotel in Virar in Palghar district, 60 km from Mumbai, to woo voters.

In the legal notice, the BJP leader said the allegations against him were false, baseless and made with malafide intentions. He claimed that he demanded an apology from the three Congress leaders for their remarks against him in the cash-for-votes row or he would be forced to initiate criminal proceedings against them.

Just a few hours before the Assembly Elections, a video went viral on Tuesday showing BVA workers storming into the hotel in Palghar during a meeting between Vinod Tawde and Rajan Naik, the BJP candidate from the Nalasopara seat. The BVA workers alleged that Tawde was caught red-handed with Rs 5 crore cash.

In the viral video, the BVA workers were seen taking out bundles of cash from a bag, while Tawde was sitting at a distance. The BVA workers also took pictures and videos of him on their phones. Amid these allegations, BVA leaders said that Rs 5 crore cash was distributed, an election official on Tuesday said Rs 9.93 lakh cash was recovered from the hotel rooms.

However, Vinod Tawde denied the allegation, saying he was only providing guidance to party workers on poll procedures and said he was not stupid enough to distribute money at his opponent’s hotel. Speaking to the media, he said that the Vivanta Hotel is owned by the Thakurs, and he is not stupid to go to their hotel and distribute money there.

The Police registered two FIRs against Tawde, BJP candidate Naik and others in connection with the controversy. Additionally, the Election Commission filed three FIRs against Tawde.

Ahead of Delhi Elections, Arvind Kejriwal launches Revdi Par Charcha campaign to seek feedback on freebies

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday launched a campaign with a tagline Revdi Par Charcha to seek public feedback on freebies. The campaign comes ahead of the assembly elections, which is scheduled to be held in February.

Former Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal launched the campaign with his colleagues at the party office, saying while the opposition calls freebies as revdi, the party calls it services. This campaign will start on November 25 and will continue for 15 days until December 10, discussing the issues with common man.

Notably, the opposition has been targeting the AAP for providing free electricity, water and free public buses for women among other facilities. However, AAP feels freebies help citizens live a life of dignity.

Gopal Rai, AAP’s Delhi unit chief, said that so far, politicians used to enjoy the facilities, while citizens paid taxes. He continued that Arvind Kejriwal’s government decided that the people should also get the facilities like the politicians, adding the BJP called their attempt revdis. He said that AAP is launching the ‘Revdi Par Charcha’ campaign to discuss with the people in the city if the government should provide the facilities or not.

Launching the campaign, Arvind Kejriwal said 65,000 meetings will be held across Delhi at micro levels by the AAP leaders and workers. He said that AAP has six revdis for the people of Delhi. Mentioning that the Prime Minister and BJP have said several times that Kejriwal is providing freebies to the people that should be stopped, the former Chief Minister said that now people will now tell them if they want these six freebies.  He further concluded that if the BJP is elected here, they will stop these services immediately.

While listing the six services, the AAP national convenor said that Delhi is getting free electricity round the clock. He added that there was a time when Delhi used to see power cuts for 8-10 hours, but AAP ensured that the situation changed. He also noted that his party is providing free water, free pilgrimage to senior citizens, free bus rides to women, free world-class education and free medicine and treatments. Additionally, the pamphlet launched by Arvind Kejriwal also listed that soon the women in Delhi will get Rs 1,000 per month as well, later termed as the seventh revdi by the former Chief Minister.

Reports said that the paper will be circulated across the national capital. The paper also reads that if the reader feels they are getting huge water bills, they should not pay it. It mentioned that AAP will waive all water bills once Arvind Kejriwal is re-elected.
