Bollywood-Hollywood actor Priyanka Chopra is being fiercely opposed in Lucknow. PC, who came to India recently, was promoting her hair product in Mumbai for some time. It was believed that she would go straight to America from Mumbai, but at present she has reached Lucknow.

Priyanka Chopra was seen meeting children from different Anganwadi centers on Monday. For the unversed, Priyanka Chopra is the Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF, and in fulfilling her duties, she met several children and also went to her childhood home in Lcuknow.

In Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar, posters of Priyanka Chopra have been put up on which a red color cross on her face. ‘You are not welcome in the city of Nawabs’ has been written on these posters. Police is investigating who has put up these posters in the city and why, but so far the reason behind the protesting is not clear.

Priyanka Chopra will be in Lucknow for 2 days and during this time she will go to Lok Bandhu Hospital and One Stop Center 181 Women Helpline. Its Priyanka Chopra New Born Care Unit and Women’s Hospital. Later she will also visit UNICEF office in Gomti Nagar.

For the unversed, Priyanka Chopra lives in America after marrying Hollywood star Nick Jonas. And is currently focusing on Hollywood projects instead of Bollywood films. Talking about Priyanka Chopra’s previous Hindi films, she was last seen in Hindi films – The Sky is Pink and The White Tiger.

The actor is also blessed with a baby girl this year, who is named, Malti Mary Chopra Jonas. She is also in talks for a female road trip film with Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif. Farhan Akhtar will be writing the film and his sister Zoya Akhtar will direct the film. The film is titled, Jee Le Zarra.

An FIR has been filed against actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, and three others following a complaint that a scene in the film ‘Jaat’ has “hurt the sentiments” of the Christian community, police reported on Friday (April 18, 2025).

According to the complaint submitted by a leader of the Christian community, the film, which premiered on April 10, features scenes that allegedly disrespect Jesus Christ and Christian religious practices.

Viklav Gold, the complainant, has also pointed out the controversial timing of the film’s release, coinciding with Good Friday, observed on April 18 of this year.

The FIR, lodged on Wednesday evening at the Jalandhar Cantt police station by Sanjeev Kumar, the station house officer, names actors Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, and Vineet Kumar, as well as director Gopichand and producer Naveen.

“The FIR was filed under Section 299 of the IPC, which pertains to deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings by insulting a religion or its beliefs,” the SHO stated.
