Singer Adnan Sami, who rose to fame with ‘Lift Kara De’ song, took to Twitter to lash out at the Pakistani government.

In a thread of tweets, he made, Sami said that he would soon expose the real behaviour of Pakistan towards him. I was silent about this for years but will choose the right moment to tell all to the world, the singer tweeted.

He claimed that the public will be shocked by the revelation in the sensational tweet.

The well-known singer acknowledged having serious problems with the current administration and claimed that one of the main factors in his decision to leave Pakistan was the establishment’s actions.

He said that many individuals have questioned his disdain for Pakistan. The harsh reality is that he has nothing but respect for the Pakistani people who have been kind to me. I love everyone who adores me-period, he added.

Furthermore, he noted that he does, however, has serious concerns about the establishment. Those who know him well will also be aware of what that institution did to him over a long period of time, which ended up being a major factor in his decision to leave Pakistan, he wrote in his tweet.

Concluding his tweet, he said he will soon reveal the truth, “I’ll soon reveal the truth about how they treated me, which few people are aware of, least of all the general public, and which will shock many!,” he said.

I’ve kept quiet about all of this for a long time, but I’ll decide when the time is appropriate to say it all, Sami added.

The Twitter users were divided into two opinions following Sami’s tweets.

On one hand Pakistani twitter users were condemning his act of defaming his country and alleged that he was showing loyalty to India.

His clarification came after his name had been circulating in discussions about possible contestants for Bigg Boss 20.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.

Azmi said she was surprised by the contrast between the appreciation she had heard from people who watched the film and its weak theatrical performance.

According to her, viewers who discussed the film with her had praised its message of humanity, but that appreciation did not translate into enough people going to theatres.
