Tamil film Varisu starring Vijay receives notice for illegal filming of elephants

The notice also said that the Elephants are protected under Schedule-1 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and as per the Rule 7 (2) of the Performing Animals (Registration) Rules, 2001, it is necessary to obtain prior permission for using animals in films.

Tamil film Varisu starring Vijay receives notice for illegal filming of elephants

The bilingual movie Varisu starring Thalapathy Vijay has run into controversy for filming elephants without official permission. The Animal Welfare Board India (AWBI) has warned the movie’s producers for using five elephants during the shoot without their consent.

The crew from Varisu has been requested by the forest authority to provide an explanation for the problem within the next week, failing which appropriate action would be taken. If animals are displayed, it is required that everyone register with the Board. The creators of Varisu have not yet released a remark on the subject, though.

The official notice issued by the Animal Welfare Association of India read that the board has received a complaint regarding illegal shooting of animals by M/S Venkateswara Creations using elephants without the pre-shoot permission from the AWBI in Tamil Film Varisu.

The show-cause notice further reads that filming animals without the board’s approval was a violation of Performing Animals (Registration) Rules, 2001 (as amended in 2022). The Boards as not received the Pre-shoot application from the film makers of Varistu.

The notice also cites that under Rule 3(1) of the Performing Animals (Registration) Rules 2001, every person has to register with the Board if the animals are being exhibited or trained. It is also informed that exhibiting the animals without permission of the Board, is an offence under Section 26 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

The notice also said that the Elephants are protected under Schedule-1 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and as per the Rule 7 (2) of the Performing Animals (Registration) Rules, 2001, it is necessary to obtain prior permission for using animals in films.

About Varisu

Rashmika Mandanna will star alongside Vijay in Varisu, which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Shaam, Khushbu, Sangeetha, Yogi Babu, and Samyuktha will play supporting parts. Varisu, a Pongal 2023 release planned by Dil Raju and Sirish under Sri Venkateswara Creations, is now under production.

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s daughter Raha was recently photographed while she was enjoying her day out with director Ayan Mukerji. They were seen on Sunday afternoon at a cafe in Mumbai’s Bandra area.

Ayan Mukharji is a close friend of Alia and Ranbir. The trio has worked together in many films, like Brahmastra, Wake Up Sid.

In a now-viral video on social media, the director was seen holding Raha in his arms, while he was getting a snack at a cafe in Bandra, Mumbai. For the Sunday outing, Ayan was seen wearing white shorts and a casual blue tee, while her daughter Raha looked cute in a set of florally printed pajamas and a shirt.

The Ye Jawani Hai Deewani director took a quick peek inside the restaurant, came out smiling, and started walking to his car. However, Raha was content to munch on a snack.

As soon as the video was shared, it quickly went viral on the internet. Netizens said Raha was looking cute. Another said Raha is enjoying Sunady with Ayan Chachu. Others also adored Raha.

Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt tied the knot on April 14, 2022, and welcomed their first child, Raha, on November 6, 2022. The couple initially choose to not to show the face of their daughter publically but a year later, on Christmas, the couple revealed their daughter’s face publically for the first time.

On the work front, Ayan Mukharji is currently getting ready to direct Hrithik Roshan’s YRF Spy Universe’s War 2. The film is being shot in Mumbai at the moment, and photos from the sets, featuring Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan, have recently gone viral. Additionally, he is also working on the second part of Bramahstra, in which Ranveer Singh is also scheduled to make an appearance.

Bollywood actor Kareena Kapoor, has been named the National Ambassador of Unicef India. In 2014, she became the organization’s first Celebrity Advocate. Kareena was driven to tears during her address onstage at her recent appointment ceremony. Adding yet another significant success to Kapoor’s already impressive resume is this new responsibility.

Kareena showed her appreciation and joy at being named the National Ambassador for Unicef India in an Instagram post on May 4. She underlined how committed she is to protecting children’s rights and making sure every child has an equitable future. Kareena thought back on her ten years of working with Unicef India, calling it enlightening and brightening.

Taking to Instagram, Kareena wrote, it is an emotional day for her. Being named the National Ambassador for UNICEF India is an honour for her, she added. The actor mentioned in her note that over the past ten years, working with UNICEF India has been incredibly instructive and enriching. She said she is happy of the work they’ve accomplished and she is reaffirming my commitment to speak out in favor of children’s rights and an equal future for all of them, she added.

The Crew  actor emphasized the value of defending children’s rights upon her appointment, pointing out that they are the next generation. She committed to utilizing her position to speak up for children who are at risk, concentrating on matters such as gender equality, education, and early childhood development. Kareena restated her conviction that every child is entitled to an equal opportunity and a promising future.

Regarding work front, Kareena is now enjoying the success of Crew, in which she starred alongside Tabu and Kriti Sanon.

Under the direction of Rajesh A. Krishnan, Crew centers on the journeys of three employed women against the backdrop of the aviation sector. In addition, Diljit Dosanjh, Kapil Sharma, Rajesh Sharma, Saswata Chatterjee, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda feature in the film.

People of London were left amused at an unusual sight as a massive replica of Harry Potter’s Aunt Marge Dursley floated near the iconic London Tower Bridge. The spectacle recreated the hilarious scene from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and caught the attention of passersby and drew their curiosity.

The replica of Aunt Marge weighed 95 kgs and had a circumference of 11.7 m. The inflated Aunt Marge replica hovered majestically in front of the historic landmark. The height of the colossal figure was 6.5m tall and required a staggering 40 cubic metres of air to inflate which is equal to filling 140 standard party balloons.

According to reports, a dedicated team of 16 individuals, which included expert designers, artists and seamstresses, brought their creative minds together for bringing the impressive replica to life. The team had to spend a total of 264 hours on the project and meticulously craft every detail of Aunt Marge’s likeness.

Replica of the floating Aunt Marge was launched to celebrate the new Return to Azkaban feature at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter celebrated the 20th anniversary of the cinematic release of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.  The video of floating Aunt Marge has gone viral on social media with 101600 views and 41 retweets till now which are only increasing.

Large number of X users and Harry Potter fans expressed their happiness on seeing the video and commented on the viral post. One Harry Potter fan Vu Hong wrote the legendary character in Harry Potter looks so big. She also shared smileys and heart emojis along with the comment.

One X user suggested that the Warner Brothers should also create a similar replica for JK Rowling as well.
