Actually, actor Deepika Padukone is wearing a saffron coloured bikini in the song ‘Besharam Rang’ of Pathaan film. Shah Rukh and Deepika have given bold scenes in this song. There is a controversy only about Deepika wearing a bold saffron coloured dress.

In the now-viral video, Mahant Raju Das was heard saying that Bollywood-Hollywood constantly tries to make fun of Sanatan religion and culture in some or the other way. Hindu deities should be insulted. The way saffron, the colour of saints, the colour of the nation, the colour of the country, the colour of Sanatan culture, has been insulted in the Pathaan movie, is very sad.

Both Shahrukh and Deepika are seen in bold look in the song.

He further says that Shah Rukh Khan has made fun of the Sanatam Dharma culture not once, but many a time, adding that what was the need for Deepika to wear a saffron coloured bikini and perform obscenity, to hurt people’s faith? Appealing to the audience to boycott such movies, he says, burn down the theatre in which this picture is shown. If you do not blow, then they are not going to believe. Tit for tat has to be done. Unless you behave wickedly with evil, you cannot control them, Mahant Raju Das concludes.

If the scene is not removed, the film will not be released, says Hindu Mahasabha in Agra

Hindu organisations in Agra have also opposed the film. They have threatened that if the bold scene is not removed, the film will not be allowed to be released. Mahasabha General Secretary Avtar Singh Gill has claimed that the film deliberately hurts the sentiments of Hindus. He questions the censor board for allowing such scenes. He adds, Saffron is a symbol of Hinduism. The film will not be allowed to screen in the entire Agra division.

BJP workers protested against the film Pathaan in Prayagraj and burnt the poster of Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone.

Shah Rukh’s visit to Vaishno Devi termed a ‘publicity stunt’

At the same time, Meena Diwakar, president of the Braj Mahila Mandal, says that Deepika has already supported the traitors. Shah Rukh Khan is also depicting the Hindu religion in a wrong manner. His visit to Vaishno Devi was only for the publicity of the film. The film will not be allowed to be released.

Protest against Pathaan in Prayagraj too, poster burnt

Posters of Shah Rukh and Deepika were burnt in Prayagraj on Wednesday in a protest staged against the film Pathaan. BJP workers shouted slogans after burning posters at Muthiganj square. During this, the activists accused of insulting the saffron colour in the film Pathaan. BJP leader Rajesh Kesarwani said that the use of obscenity with saffron colour in the song Besharam Rang of Pathaan film was an insult to the entire Hindu culture, which will not be tolerated at any cost.

Batwara 1947 box office failure: Shabana Azmi says audiences couldn’t accept Sunny Deol as Muslim

Shabana Azmi has reflected on Batwara 1947’s poor box office performance, suggesting that audiences may have struggled to accept Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

Batwara 1947 has had a disappointing run at the box office, and actor Shabana Azmi has now shared her thoughts on why the film may not have connected with audiences. According to Azmi, one possible reason could be the difficulty some viewers had in accepting Sunny Deol as a Muslim character.

The film, which also features Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi, was released on August 14. It has reportedly earned around Rs 53 crore so far, while Awarapan 2, which released on the same day, has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark.

Shabana Azmi on Sunny Deol’s Muslim character

Discussing the film’s response, Shabana Azmi questioned whether audiences were able to accept Sunny Deol in a Muslim role.

She compared the situation with Amitabh Bachchan’s earlier performances in which he portrayed Muslim characters. Azmi pointed to Deewaar, where Bachchan’s character is associated with the number 786, and said such portrayals had been accepted by audiences.

Azmi also suggested that there may have been confusion among some viewers about Sunny Deol’s character in Batwara 1947. She said that even some people who had watched the film believed Deol was playing a Pakistani character, whereas, according to her, he plays an Indian Muslim.

What Shabana Azmi said about the film’s reception

Azmi said she was surprised by the contrast between the appreciation she had heard from people who watched the film and its weak theatrical performance.

According to her, viewers who discussed the film with her had praised its message of humanity, but that appreciation did not translate into enough people going to theatres.

She also questioned whether audiences were uncomfortable with the film’s India-Pakistan subject. Azmi maintained that the film’s message was not politically incorrect and praised Sunny Deol’s performance.

Batwara 1947 vs Awarapan 2 at the box office

The poor performance of Batwara 1947 has become more noticeable because the film released alongside Awarapan 2. While Batwara 1947 has struggled commercially, Awarapan 2 has performed significantly better at the box office.

The contrast has added to the discussion around the reception of the Sunny Deol-starrer, particularly after Azmi offered her view on why audiences may not have connected with the film.
