Burqa clad man

In a bizarre incident, a Hindu man can be seen wearing a burqa to avail a free bus ride under the Karnataka government’s Shakti Yojna. The man was spotted at a bus stop in Karnataka’s Dharwad district on Thursday. The man, Veerabhadraiah Mathapati, was sitting alone at a bus stop. Following this, the onlookers suspected that the man wore the burqa to avail the free bus ride. The Shakti scheme by the Karnataka government was launched on June 11.

According to reports, Veerabhadraiah claimed that he wore the burqa for the purpose of begging and not to avail a free bus ride. Nonetheless, his narration failed to satisfy the people who suspected that he had plans to get a free bus ticket under the Shakti Yojna. The man reportedly also had a photocopy of a woman’s Aadhaar card in his possession.

The man was caught by the public at the Saunshi bus stand. As per reports, the man is suffering from mental health issues. He is from Sindagi taluk of Vijayapura district. According to the police, he is said to have travelled from Bengaluru to Saunshi. Eyewitnesses revealed that the man was wearing burqa to avail Shakti scheme benefits provided to women to travel free in buses.

A police source at Kundagol police station told a newspaper that following an enquiry they found out that the man may be suffering from mental health issues. He added that they let him off with a warning. The Karnataka Shakti scheme is a flagship scheme of the Government of Karnataka. Under the aegis of this scheme, women and transgender persons are provided free bus travel in all non-premium services offered by the state-run Road Transport Corporations (RTCs). The Shakti scheme was one of the five poll promises given by the Congress government ahead of the Karnataka assembly election.

Chatgpt aadhaar card misuse: Here’s how you can identify fake Aadhaar cards with step-by-step verification

ChatGPT-generated Aadhaar cards raise new concerns over ID fraud. Here’s a detailed guide on spotting fake IDs and verifying real ones using UIDAI’s official portal.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has opened doors to countless innovations, but it also brings along serious concerns—especially when it comes to identity security. A recent LinkedIn post revealed that ChatGPT was able to generate what appeared to be an Aadhaar card, triggering fears over the ease with which fake government IDs can now be created using AI.

Amid rising dependency on Aadhaar for everything from banking to phone verification, the emergence of fake, AI-generated Aadhaar cards has raised red flags.

How AI is being used to mimic Aadhaar

A LinkedIn user recently experimented with ChatGPT to test whether an Aadhaar card could be generated—and the outcome was alarming. Despite AI’s inability to access UIDAI’s official databases or create authentic records, its capability to produce convincing visual fakes has sparked major security concerns. Fraudsters could exploit such tools to mislead individuals or institutions by generating Aadhaar-like cards with altered details and design.

Why this matters: Aadhaar’s significance in India

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identity number issued to every Indian citizen, including children and infants. Managed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), it serves as a crucial document for identity and address verification and is often mandatory for bank accounts, mobile numbers, PAN cards, and financial transactions.

Spotting fake Aadhaar: Key differences to look for

To help citizens differentiate between real and AI-generated Aadhaar cards, here are five critical checks:

Photograph mismatch: AI-generated Aadhaar cards often show discrepancies between the uploaded photo and the one that appears on the final card.

Font inconsistencies: Compare the fonts used in English and Hindi on the card—AI models may struggle to replicate official typography accurately.

Syntax and formatting errors: Look out for misplaced colons, slashes, or commas in personal details and layout.

Incorrect logos: Closely examine the Aadhaar and Government of India logos. Fake versions may appear blurry or improperly scaled.

QR code check: A genuine Aadhaar card contains a scannable QR code. If it’s present, scan it to verify its authenticity

How to verify Aadhaar online: UIDAI step-by-step guide

To confirm whether an Aadhaar number is valid:

Step 1: Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/verifyAadhaar

Step 2: Click on “Check Aadhaar Validity”

Step 3: Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number and captcha code

If the number is invalid, the system will not proceed. If it’s valid, you’ll receive a confirmation message stating:

“Aadhaar Verification Completed” and “[Entered Aadhaar number] Exists”

Virtual ID (VID): A secure alternative

To enhance privacy, users can generate a Virtual ID (VID)—a temporary 16-digit number linked to their Aadhaar. This can be used for authentication and e-KYC without revealing the actual Aadhaar number. Importantly, only the Aadhaar holder can generate this VID, and it is sent via SMS to the registered mobile number.

Sadhguru’s 30% diet challenge: Spiritual leader explains how eating more fruits can transform your digestion and mental clarity

Sadhguru’s 30% diet challenge urges people to eat more fresh fruits daily. From better digestion to steady energy, here’s how this change can improve your life.

Sadhguru 30% diet challenge

Renowned spiritual leader and yogi, Sadhguru, has long advocated for a holistic approach to health. One of his standout dietary principles is the “30% diet challenge”, which encourages people to consume at least 30% of their daily food intake in the form of fresh fruits. According to Sadhguru, fruits are not just nutritious—they play a pivotal role in enhancing energy, improving digestion, and promoting mental clarity.

Why Sadhguru recommends 30% fruits in your diet

The idea behind the 30% diet challenge is simple: fuel the body with foods that are easy to digest and rich in vital nutrients. Fruits, according to Sadhguru, are among the cleanest and most energy-efficient foods. Unlike processed or heavy meals that can burden the digestive system, fruits are light, quick to metabolize, and help the body function optimally.

He explains that this dietary shift is not merely about maintaining physical fitness but also about reducing the risk of chronic conditions and staying mentally alert.

Health benefits: From detox to disease prevention

Fruits are rich in natural sugars, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making them a powerhouse for overall health. Sadhguru notes that fruits help the body detoxify naturally, support organ health, and reduce the strain on vital systems like the liver and kidneys. He also suggests that regular fruit consumption can enhance blood circulation, reduce inflammation and also lower the risk of conditions such as diabetes, thyroid imbalances, and hypertension

Fruits for energy and mental alertness

Sadhguru often draws attention to how different types of food affect one’s mental state. He says that fruits, due to their natural sugars and clean-burning properties, provide sustained energy without causing blood sugar spikes. Unlike heavy meals that can make one sluggish, fruits help keep the body light and the mind sharp.

How to make fruits a daily habbit

Incorporating 30% fruits into your meals doesn’t require drastic lifestyle changes. Here are some practical ways to adopt this approach:

Start your day with fruits: A bowl of mixed seasonal fruits makes for a nourishing breakfast.

Snack smart: Replace processed snacks with fresh fruit options like bananas, apples, or oranges.

Smoothie switch: Blend fruits into smoothies for a filling, nutritious drink.

Go seasonal: Eating fruits that are in season ensures maximum nutrition and freshness.

Empty stomach advantage: For better absorption, consume fruits on an empty stomach, especially in the morning.
