Salaar delayed? Prabhas’ film to release on December or January now

Prabhas’ Salaar, a highly anticipated film this year, has been postponed. It was originally scheduled to be released on September 28. The Indian action thriller will not be hitting the big screen this month due to pending post-production work.

The prevalent talk in the trade circle suggests that Prashant Neel’s Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire may now be released in December 2023 or January 2024. An official announcement by the film’s creators about the release date is expected soon.

The film’s production team has expressed issues with the completion of graphics work and plans to complete it by September 28. This has resulted in uncertainty about when the movie will be released. According to reports, Director Prashant Neel is also displeased with the delay.

With a considerable budget of ₹200 crore and Prabhas playing a gangster role, the film has gained significant traction. The antagonist of Salaar is played by the Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran with Jagapathi Babu, Shruti Haasan, and Teenaa Anand in pivotal roles.

There are also talks of a sequel going around, with Jagapathi Babu appearing prominently in the second film. The film is set to release in regional languages along with Hindi, making it a pan-Indian release.

According to reports, Salaar holds a prominent position among the top films emerging from India, and the creators are determined to meet the high expectations of fans and film enthusiasts. However, the film needs additional time for post-production and is not ready.

Prabhas, Prashant Neel, and their team have collectively agreed to the postponement of the film. The distributors in India as well as the USA have been informed about the postponement of the film’s release. The USA’s bookings will be cancelled and refunded. The makers of the film will decide a new date and an official announcement will be made soon.
