CAT 2022 to be held on November 27: Exam pattern, dress code, marking scheme, and other details

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2022 on November 27, Sunday. Candidates who wish to take the CAT 2022 exam can obtain their admit card from the CAT’s official website, iimcat.ac.in.

CAT 2022 will be held in three shifts.

  • The first session will be held from 8:30 am to 10:30 am. Candidates should not report to the institution by 8:15 am.
  • The second session will be held between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm. Candidates should not report to the institution by 12:15 pm.
  • The third session will be held between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm. Candidates should not report to the institution by 4:15 pm

CAT 2022: Exam day dress code

  • Mask will be permitted beyond the Frisking Point.
  • Candidates are not allowed to wear any jewelry (or any item containing metal), shoes/footwear with thick soles, and garments with large buttons and pockets inside the test lab.
  • Candidates can wear socks, plain pullovers, sweaters and cardigans (without any pockets).
  • Slippers and sandals are allowed inside the test lab.
  • Mobile phones, electronic gadgets, watches, calculators, own stationery items, pens, wallets, and goggles are strictly not allowed in the test hall/lab.
  • Candidates with metal implants, pacemakers, etc. in their body are required to bring a supporting medical certificate of the same to the test centre.

CAT 2022: Things to keep in mind

  • Candidates must carry admit cards to the examination centre. Admit card must contain the candidate’s photograph and signature images.
  • Affix the photograph (same as what was uploaded while applying for the exam) in the space provided on the admit card before handing it over for verification at the exam centre.
  • Candidates are not allowed to bring their own stationery. They will be given one pen and one scribble pad. Candidates are supposed to keep all pen and scribble pad (with all pages intact) in the boxes once the exam is over.
  • Attempting to appear for CAT 2022 more than once is not allowed.

CAT 2022: Exam Pattern

The CAT 2022 exam will consist of 66 questions divided across three sections. The sections include Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. Candidates have 40 minutes to complete each section with PwD candidates receiving an additional 13 minutes and 20 seconds for each Section.

CAT 2022: Marking Scheme

  • For every accurate MCQ answer, candidates will receive 3 points.
  • For every incorrect MCQ answer, one mark will be deducted.
  • Marks will not be deducted for a question that is not an MCQ.
  • No credit will be given for questions that are unanswered.

Nilkrishna Gajare, who hails from Maharashtra’s Washim, achieved an extraordinary feat by securing a perfect score of 100 in the JEE Main 2024 examination. His journey from humble beginnings to the pinnacle of success is a source of inspiration for many people.

Nilkrishna Gajare’s father is a farmer and had to discontinue his own education after Class 12 as he faced financial difficulties. Gajare faced financial challenges growing up. Nilkrishna Gajare had a strategic plan that helped him succeed in IIT-JEE 2024. According to Nilkrishna persistence is important and one should never stop trying until they understand a topic. Nilkrishna spent around 10-15 hours every day studying on his own for the JEE Main exam. He mentioned that he used his class notes for Physics and Physical Chemistry. For organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry, he relied on both notes and practice questions.

As for Mathematics, he believed that practicing regularly was the most important thing for him. Other interests of Nilkrishna include archery. He has participated at both state and national levels, and he finds joy in the sport.  He said archery helps him understand the importance of focusing his attention on his goals. Nilkrishna likes watching movies and said they are a great source of enjoyment and relaxation.

He likes to watch a movie after exams and occasionally treats himself to one each week too. Gajare aims to keep up the pace for the JEE-Advanced exam and hopes to get into the IITs. He said he wants to secure admission in IIT-Bombay in the computer science branch.

Anand Kumar, mathematician and founder of Super 30 had an unexpected meeting with one of his ex-students while shopping in a mall in New Jersey, USA. Kumar took to X and posted that his heartwarming encounter with Sandeep Chaudhary and said his meeting was nothing short of a filmy scene.

Anand Kumar shared a picture with Sandeep Chaudhary in a heartfelt post and wrote that many such incidents have happened in his life that seem like something from a film. He said he had come to buy some stuff for his children in a mall in New Jersey, USA. He was pleasantly surprised when he was called from behind. Anand Sir, you are here in America? The man introduced himself as Sandeep Chaudhary, his ex-student. Chaudhary came forward and touched Anand’s feet. Chaudhary also insisted on letting him pay for the stuff  Anand had bought at the mall.

Sandeep Chaudhary thanked Anand Kumar for his blessings and said Today, it is because of Anand’s blessings that he had reached here. Chaudhary also dropped him off in his car at the place where Anand had been staying. Anand Kumar wrote in his post that there cannot be a more proud moment for a teacher like him than this.

The post has gone viral on social media with 256400 views till now which are only increasing. Large number of social media users, Anand Kumar fans and students commented on the social media post. One X user Pradeep Rawat said Anand Kumar has done the work of a true teacher.

The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA), has launched a two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme in hybrid mode for working professionals and entrepreneurs.

The online MBA programme in blended mode comprises, on-campus, face-to-face, and live interactive online sessions, designed for a seasoned cohort of participants with a minimum of three years of work experience.

To be considered for admission, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and a minimum of three years of full-time work experience. The admission process involves an admission test (IIMA Admission Test (IAT)/ CAT/ GMAT/GRE) and a personal interview.

The programme will primarily utilise synchronous online learning, supplemented by five distinct on-campus modules. The programme emphasizes a case-based approach to provide practical learning experiences that will equip participants with the necessary knowledge and skills for success in today’s dynamic business landscape, as announced by the institute.

On the launch of the hybrid programme, the director of the institute, Professor Bharat Bhasker expressed his excitement over the launch of the new MBA programme and said the Online MBA programme will expand IIMA’s reach and provide world-class education to working professionals and entrepreneurs around the world.

This innovative program combines the flexibility of online learning with the richness of on-campus interaction, ensuring participants gain the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their chosen careers, he added.

Professor Joshy Jacob, Chairperson of the Online MBA programme, explained the format of the program. He said that the curriculum is designed to provide participants with the necessary functional and organizational skills to succeed in a challenging world. The program aims to upskill working professionals by teaching them managerial decision-making frameworks that are rooted in human behaviour, economics, finance, and other relevant areas.

In-person classes held at IIMA focus on complex interpersonal and organizational dynamics that are difficult to master. Conversely, online sessions conducted through live classes concentrate on content that is more suitable for quantitative and systematic analysis.
