Jersey OTT Release: Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer sports drama will release on Netflix from THIS date
Jersey did not had a good run at the box office but the lead actors have been applauded for their performance.

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey is all set for its OTT release. The sports drama is a Hindi remake of the National Award-winning Telugu film Jersey starring South Superstars like Nani, Shraddha Srinath, Harish Kalyan, Sathyaraj, and Sampath Raj.
The Hindi remake will release on Netflix on May 20. The official social media handle the streamer made this announcement. While sharing the poster of Jersey, they captioned it as, “If you see us tearing up, it’s because we just watched Jersey and we can’t wait for you to catch it too. Jersey arrives on Netflix on 20th May.”
The makers of Jersey had lot of expectation from the film, they even delayed the movie four times to save it from big clashes and Covid-19 restrictions but still the movie failed to impress audience at the box office. Jersey somehow managed to collect just 19 to 20 crores at the box office and was added to the list of flop films.
However, the lead actors of the film, Shahid Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor were applauded for their acting performance but the original movie will always stand out in comparison. Moreover, the film was also affected by the Bollywood films like Runway 34 and Heropanti, starring Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff respectively. But the major defeat was given by the monstrous release of KGF Chapter 2. The Yash starrer, KGF Chapter 2 is continuing to hamper the growth of several films by breaking numerous records.
The original movie Jersey staring Nani was huge hit at Telugu box office and also received the ‘Best Telugu Film’ and ‘Best Editing’ award at the 67th National Awards. It is a story of a father and his unconditional love for his son. Meanwhile there is also a part of his love story with his wife but the story revolves around the hero, his love for cricket and his undying determination to make his son proud.
