The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit out at Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav after a video of him dancing with youngsters on Patna’s newly-inaugurated Marine Drive went viral on social media.

BJP calls it “irresponsible”

The clip, shared by his sister Rohini Acharya, shows Yadav enthusiastically joining a group of boys late at night, copying Bollywood dance moves and even mimicking Hrithik Roshan’s steps. BJP national spokesperson Ajay Alok criticised the act, calling it irresponsible and an “encouragement of anarchy.” He warned that if the Bihar Police did not take action, roads across the state could turn into spots for making reels.

“JP Path is not a picnic spot. Only a ‘responsible leader’ of the opposition can dance and sing in the middle of the night and make reels. Do you know how many lives have been lost in road accidents while making reels?” Alok posted on X.

Yadav’s interaction with youth

Tejashwi Yadav, who was accompanied by his nephew from Singapore, reportedly stopped at Marine Drive after the conclusion of the 16-day Voter Adhikar Yatra. He joined a group of young artists creating videos and was also seen dancing to a Bhojpuri number paying tribute to his father, former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Later, Yadav shared his experience online, saying, “With ease, simplicity, and grace, we will march in step with the expectations, aspirations, dreams, and hopes of the youth, rising above caste and religion, and pledge to build a new Bihar through a change of government.”

Context of the yatra

The video surfaced after the completion of the Voter Adhikar Yatra, a 16-day march from Sasaram to Patna led by Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav. The yatra covered 25 districts and over 110 assembly constituencies, highlighting issues linked to voting rights.

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has declared the UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 results for 2026 on April 23 at 4 pm.

This year, more than 52 lakh students registered for the exams, including over 27 lakh candidates in Class 10 and nearly 25 lakh in Class 12. The examinations were conducted between February 18 and March 12 across around 8,000 centres in the state.

Pass percentage and performance trends

The overall performance remains strong:

Class 10 pass percentage: 90.42%
Class 12 pass percentage: 80.38%

Girls have once again outperformed boys in both classes, continuing the trend seen in previous years.
