Rohit Shetty is currently getting loads of praise for his work on Sooryavanshi, as well as for making the correct decision to release the action thriller in theatres. Meanwhile, during an interview when Rohit Shetty questioned about the representation of ‘good Muslim bad Muslim’ in the film, the filmmaker gave an appropriate response.  The filmmaker handled the question like a pro, simply asking why his last films villains, who were Hindus, were not the problem.

Abira Dhar, a Quint journalist, questioned Rohit Shetty on how Muslims are shown in both positive and negative light in his recent film Sooryavanshi. She described the sequence as ‘problematic.’ Shetty, on the other hand, was not impressed with the question. He questioned why in earlier films’ Hindu villains were not objected to because of their caste. “If I ask you one question… Jaikant Shikre (in Singham) was a Hindu Marathi. Then a second film came where a Hindu godman was there. Then in Simba, Durva Ranade was a Maharashtrian again. Why isn’t it a concern that the negative forces in these three were Hindu?”

When Dhar tried to make an argument with him, he cut her off and said, “If there is a terrorist from Pakistan, what caste would he be?” Shetty said that such controversies had changed his point of view about many journalists. “It changed my point of view of a few journalists whom I used to like. That oh, they are portraying it like I have seen in brackets somebody writing bad Muslims being preached by upper-caste Hindus, which is very wrong. We never thought that way.”

It is important to remember that the storyline of the newly released film Sooryavanshi is about Pakistani terrorists organising multiple attacks in India following the 1993 Mumbai explosions, and the hero’s efforts to stop them. As a result, it is natural that the film’s villains, the Lashkar terrorists, are presented as Muslims. Filmmakers frequently use their creative freedom to alter reality, but portraying Lashkar terrorists from Pakistan of any other religion would be too much for any director.

Shetty went on to say that a lot happened in the background while they were filming the film. It is important for him to maintain a clear mentality while filming the picture. “When our conscience is clear, and we did not think that way,” he continued, “why are others talking about it?” He further added, “If there is a sleeper cell that we are talking about, what caste that sleeper cell would be? Why is a good or bad person associated with his caste? If it had been inappropriate, everyone would have complained. It is not everyone’s point of view, but rather a tiny portion of them. If they oppose, it is up to them to shift their perspective, not ours.”

The film, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, has already set multiple records and continues to do well as audiences go to see it. The film’s box office results show that it is a huge success with the audience.

While the details of their alleged involvement remain under investigation, the allegations raise serious questions about their conduct and potential complicity in a scheme that defrauded numerous investors.

Bollywood actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath find themselves embroiled in a significant legal controversy, named as accused in a cheating and breach of trust case registered at the Murthal police station in Sonipat, Haryana.

The First Information Report (FIR), filed on January 22, lists the two prominent actors among thirteen individuals charged under Sections 316 (2), 318 (2), and 318 (4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. These charges encompass criminal breach of trust, cheating, and the fraudulent transfer of property.

The complainant, Sonipat resident Vipul Antil, levelled accusations against the Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society, registered in Indore under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act of 2002. Antil alleges that the society, active across multiple states, including Haryana, since September 16th, 2016, lured investors with promises of exorbitant returns on fixed deposits (FDs) and recurring deposits (RDs).

The society employed a multi-level marketing strategy, incentivizing agents to recruit additional investors, creating a pyramid scheme structure that ultimately led to widespread financial losses.

Ajeet Singh, the Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Murthal, confirmed the inclusion of Talpade and Nath’s names in the list of accused, based on statements provided by the complainant. Singh clarified that the primary focus of the investigation remains the alleged fraudulent activities of the cooperative society, and the police are currently working to determine the specific roles, if any, played by Talpade and Nath in the alleged scheme. The investigation will delve into the extent of their involvement and whether they directly benefited from the alleged fraudulent activities.

The case has sent ripples through the Bollywood industry, casting a shadow over the careers of both actors. While the details of their alleged involvement remain under investigation, the allegations raise serious questions about their conduct and potential complicity in a scheme that defrauded numerous investors.

Shreyas Talpade’s most recent cinematic appearance was in Kangana Ranaut’s directorial debut, Emergency, a historical drama set during India’s tumultuous Emergency period from 1975 to 1977. Alok Nath, a veteran Bollywood actor, boasts a prolific career spanning over three decades and encompassing over 300 films, establishing him as a familiar face in Indian cinema. The unfolding investigation will determine the extent of their involvement in this complex financial crime and the consequences they may face.
