Sanjay Dutt to star in Ashutosh Gowariker’s sports drama Toolsidas Junior
Toolsidas Junior will be written and directed by Mridul, who previously co-directed and co-directed Missed call. The movie represented India at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. It is also enlisted in the Films Division’s honour list of Best of Indian Cinema.
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been roped in for a sports drama titled Toolsidas Junior. The film is based on a snooker champion to be played by child actor Varun Buddhadev. The film also stars Rajiv Kapoor, brother of late Rishi Kapoor in a prominent role.
Producers Ashutosh Gowariker and Bhushan Kumar made the announcements on their respective social media handles on Friday. While Ashutosh and Bhushan have collaborated earlier for music in Swades and other films, this would be their first joint film production.

Toolsidas Junior will be written and directed by Mridul, who previously co-directed and co-directed Missed call. The movie represented India at the Cannes Film Festival in 2006. It is also enlisted in the Films Division’s honour list of Best of Indian Cinema.
The veteran actor Dalip Tahil will feature in a negative character, playing the role of a snooker champion in the film. Filmmaker Ashutosh had earlier spoken about taking Dalip for the role in a press statement.
The film will also mark the comeback of Rajiv Kapoor after a gap of 30 years. He was last seen in the 1990 film Zameendar. Going by reports, Sanjay will feature as a snooker coach while Rajiv Kapoor will be portraying Varun Buddhadev’s father in the film. However, the details about the characters have not been officially revealed as of now.

Meanwhile, Sanjay had taken minor break from work as he diagnosed cancer in October. The actor recovered last month from the illness, and has resumed his work now. His upcoming projects include KGF: Chapter 2, Prithviraj, Bhuj: The Pride of India and Torbaaz. He was last seen in Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2.

According to reports, the actor slipped while he was working in the kitchen and got injured. He was taken to hospital where he lost his life.
The 67-year-old actor is survived by his wife Suzanne Bernert, also an actor. The incident took place in Hyderabad, Telangana where he was shooting for an upcoming project.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee had extended his condolence on the death of veteran actor Akhil Mishra. He said the incident was unbelievably shocking.
Akhil was married to a German actor Suzanne Bernert in February 2009. Later in 2011, they got married as per the traditional rituals.
Akhil has worked in several movies like Gandhi, My Father, Don, Shikhar, Kamla Ki Maut, and Well Done Abba. He got his popularity as a librarian Dubey in 3 Idiots movie, starring Amir Khan, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, and Omi Vaidya among others.
The veteran actor was also seen in famous TV shows like CID, Udaan, Hatim and Uttaran among others.
Suzanne Bernert has also worked in several Television shows such as Porus, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Savdhaan India, Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.
Earlier, Akhil Mishra and his wife Suzanne worked together in the movie Kram. They have worked in TV Shows together like Dewaana, a Doordarshan serial.
They worked in a short film named Manju Ki Juliet as well in 2019.
His last rites were held on September 21 at 3:30 pm at Indralok near Golden Nest. Suzanne had made all the arrangements and preparations for the cremation. She said that her heart was broken and her second half had gone forever.
