Koffee With Karan 7: Karan Johar breaks silence over Sushant Singh Rajput’s case
Both Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh who are also shooting for Karan Johar’s next Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani were the first guests to grace the Koffee couch this season.

Bollywood director and producer Karan Johar is back with the brand new season of Koffee With Karan. And the first guests to grace the Koffee couch were non other than Bollywood actors Ranveer Singh and newly wed Alia Bhatt.
Both the actors are also being directed by Karan Johar in his next directorial Rocky aur Rani ki Prem Kahani. And hence, may be Karan thought it was appropriate to call both the talented actors for the inaugural episode of Koffee With Karan Season 7.
However, one of the major highlight of the episode was Karan Johar addressing the all negativity that came his way during the late Sushant Singh Rajput case. As soon as Ranveer and Alia entered the set, Karan started off by welcoming them and later even thanked them for coming on the show after all that had happened.
Ranveer was quick to ask Karan about what was Karan indicating to. While opening up to the Gully Boy actor, Karan Johar said, “We as an industry were vilified. We were absolutely put into the dungeon for two years. I went through a lot and it wasn’t an easy time. And at that point of time, snake emoji used to come out whenever I was mentioned.”
Karan Johar went ahead and said, “At one point I thought that, Koffee with Karan will never come back, because there were lots of attack.”
However, being kind and honest as ever, Ranveer replied to Karan and said. “I had no doubt that you would do more and more seasons of this show, because all of that was baseless, unfair and unwarranted.” Later Karan agreed to Ranveer and said that there were baseless and faceless people saying anything on television.
For the unversed, Karan Johar was talking about the time when Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case was open and soon the nepotism VS outsider debate had started. Nevertheless to mention, all the content brought in by the Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut and with all of that came a lot of backlash towards director Karan Johar and several other star-kids.
