The wait is finally over for those who have been eagerly waiting for the trailer of Akshay Kumar’s film Prithviraj. The historical drama film is the debut film of the former Miss World Manushi Chillar. The film also stars Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.

Akshay Kumar dropped the trailer on Twitter on Monday and wrote The immortal saga of valor and might. This is the story of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan.

During the trailer launch, Akshay Kumar said everything shown in the film is authentic and correct. It is startling that the story has been unknown for such a long time.

Tweeple have mixed reactions. One of the users wrote, Thank you for bringing a movie on the last Hindu emperor of India, I hope you and CP Dwivedi Ji have done justice to this story and historical facts. Kudos and all the best to the whole team. While another said Wohi same, Ek Hindu raja, Muslim villain, Muslim attack karega aur haar ke jayega.

Another user quipped that the trailer of Prithiviraj looks like a combination of Bajirao Mastani and Padmavat. He said Sanjay Leela Bhansali would have directed this movie. He said the trailer is so bad that at first he thought it was a fan-made trailer but had to believe it after it was posted by Akshay Kumar.

The fourth user said to be honest no VFX is not good. I don’t understand why Indian movies don’t get VFX right.

Prithviraj will hit the silver screen on June 3 and will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj is produced by Yash Raj Films Before Prithviraj, Dwivedi directed the television show Chanakya and the film Pinjar.

Veteran actor Mushtaq Khan, who appeared in several Hindi films and was particularly remembered for his role in the 2007 comedy Welcome, has died at the age of 56.

Khan was known for playing supporting characters across Hindi cinema and had worked in films spanning several decades. His role as Balu in Welcome remains among his best-known performances.

Mushtaq Khan’s film career

Mushtaq Khan appeared in a wide range of films during his career. His filmography included Aashiqui, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Gopi Kishan, Krantiveer, Raja, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Jodi No. 1 and Hera Pheri.

He also featured in more recent films including Stree 2, Gadar 2, Baby John, Dhoom Dhaam and Jaat. His filmography lists acting work continuing into 2026.

In Welcome, Khan played Balu, a supporting character in the comedy starring Akshay Kumar, Nana Patekar, Anil Kapoor and other prominent actors.
