Actor Salman Khan has been issued a gun license amid death threats from the alleged Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The Dabangg actor applied for the arms license with the Mumbai Police for security reasons. Earlier, there had been reports that Salman Khan has upgraded his Land Cruiser to an armoured and bulletproof vehicle ever since the threats.

Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan received the death threat from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in early June, a few days after the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala. The threat letter stated that the father-son duo would meet the same fate as slain singer Sidhu Moose Wala.

The Mumbai Police issued a guns license to the actor after he visited the Mumbai Police headquarters late last month to meet with top cop Vivek Phansalkar. He urged Phansalkar to let him own a gun to protect himself and his family, said reports.

Lawrence Bishnoi who is currently under remand for killing Sidhu Moose Wala said that his gang will kill Salman Khan if he doesn’t tender a public apology for killing a blackbuck. During an interrogation in connection with the murder of Punjabi singer, Sidhu Moosewala, Bishnoi said his community considers blackbuck to be the reincarnation of their religious Guru, Bhagwan Jambeshwar, also known as Jambaji.

This is not the first time Salman Khan has received death threats. In 2018, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang threatened the Bollywood actor when the trial for the blackbuck poaching case was underway.
