Watch: Sunny Deol’s reaction on fan’s selfie request, fans call him arrogant

A circulating video on social media captures actor Sunny Deol’s interaction at the airport. Sunny, basking in the success of his recent film Gadar 2, was seen expressing frustration towards a fan who approached him for a selfie. This response from the actor has sparked varied reactions, with some labeling him as arrogant. Conversely, a segment of his fans defended his reaction, attributing it to his potential exhaustion from promoting Gadar 2 and his inclination to avoid fan interactions at that moment.

In the video, Sunny, casually attired in grey travel clothing and donning a black bucket hat, found himself surrounded by fans eager to capture photos with him. As he paused for one of them, he curtly instructed the person, Le na photo (Take the photo). The video, shared by a Twitter or X user, triggered a commentary on the behavior of first-generation stars compared to those born into fame and privilege. The sentiment expressed that stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are invariably grateful to their fans.

Notably, a few days prior to this incident, a video surfaced of Sunny declining to take pictures with underprivileged women on a Mumbai street.

Certain social media users criticized Sunny Deol for exhibiting entitlement. One commenter on Twitter or X humorously connected his behavior to his character in the movie Ziddi, stating, Paji still in Ziddi movie wala mood (Brother still has the angry mood from his film Ziddi). Another contrasted reel life with real life, suggesting that the affection fans hold for celebrities based on their roles in films might not always align with their real personalities. Another light-heartedly remarked that Sunny Deol hadn’t encountered such an influx of fervent fans chasing him for a decade or two, and yet he seemed unchanged.

In defense of Sunny, a fan emphasized that similar behavior could also be witnessed from other veteran actors like Jaya Bachchan and Hema Malini. They argued that Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Naseeruddin Shah, and others have exhibited moments of rudeness as well. Another supporter acknowledged that despite his stardom, Sunny is a human being who can experience frustration. Similarly, someone pointed out that given Sunny’s frequent travel for Gadar 2 promotions, his weariness could have contributed to his reaction
