NASA releases Halloween playlist with spooky sounds from outer space

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Researchers at NASA came up with the unearthly playlist by converting the radio emissions from space into sound waves.
Overshadowing almost all spooky ideas to make the Halloween a bit nerdier, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) released its own impressive playlist – compiling eerie sounds from the very depth of the solar system.
In a unique attempt to compose scary sound tracks, researchers at NASA tapped into some of its spacecrafts to capture radio emissions from the endless vacuum of the outer space. Researchers then came up with an exceptional playlist by converting the radio emissions into sound waves.
The playlist, named “Spooky Sounds from Across the Solar System”, comprises of a total of 22 tracks, each of which consists uncanny sounds like – the “roar” of Jupiter’s magnetosphere, screech of interstellar plasma, the cacophony of lightning on Jupiter and many more.
The radio emissions from the space were captured by an A-list group of NASA’s roaming spacecrafts, including – Voyager, Cassini and Juno. Scientists used a technology called ‘data sonification’ to convert the radio signals into sound waves.
In a statement released by the space research center, a NASA official said, “Juno’s Waves instrument recorded the encounter with the bow shock over the course of about two hours on June 24, 2016.”
One of the track from NASA’s spooky playlist featured sounds from plasma waves – which is a rhythmic cacophony which can be heard across the space with the EMFISIS instrument at NASA’s robotic spacecraft, Van Allen Probes
“Plasma waves, like the roaring ocean surf, create a rhythmic cacophony that — with the EMFISIS instrument aboard NASA’s Van Allen Probes — we can hear across space,” mentioned the statement released by NASA.
The playlist also included sounds of a comet encounter – which was captured when dust particles from a passing comet named Temple 1 pelted on one of NASA’s spacecrafts.
Another track, titled “Beware of Jupiter’s Largest Moon Ganymede”, almost resembles the audio from an interstellar video game. The track includes translated radio emissions captured the satellite enters the magnetosphere of the moon.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
