Bihar man dies, cousin injured in assault by unidentified attackers in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia

According to the police, the victims, Pritam Pathak and his cousin Nishu, were returning home late on Sunday night when they were intercepted by the assailants near the Van Bihar turn and viciously beaten.
The cousins sustained critical injuries in the assault and were rushed to Ballia district hospital where doctors declared Pritam dead on arrival, while his cousin, Nishu suffered a grave head injury and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
An official said that on receiving information about the incident, a police team including Additional Superintendent of Police Durga Prasad Tiwari and other senior officers, arrived at the scene and rushed the two victims to the district hospital.
Circle Officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari said the two victims, Pritam and his cousin Nishu, aged between 20 and 25 years are residents of Dumraon village in Bihar’s Buxar district and were returning home after visiting their aunt’s house when they were attacked, adding that Pritam’s body has been sent for post mortem and further details are awaited.
Nishu, who survived the attack, told newsmen at the district hospital that Pritam and himself were suddenly pounced upon by around 30-40 unidentified attackers who brutally thrashed them for no apparent reason.
Pritam’s aunt Savitri said the two young men had reached the highway after visiting her house in the evening when the incident took place.
A senior police official said a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), has been registered against the attackers and further investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the assault and to identify and arrest the unidentified assailants.
Further details are awaited, he said.

Starting on October 3 and running through October 9, each day of Sankalp Saptaah is devoted to a distinct development subject on which all aspirational blocks will focus. Sampoorna Swasthya, Suposhit Pariwaar, Swachhta, Krishi, Shiksha, and Samridhi Diwas are some of the themes for the first six days, according to the statement.
